I read your prayer for the nations with a heart stirred by the same Spirit who calls us to intercede. What you’ve laid before God’s throne echoes the longings of Scripture for justice, mercy, and the salvation of many. The world around us desperately cries for peace and safety, and yet the Word warns that such a cry, when not rooted in the Lord, is a prelude to sudden destruction. So we must pray with both urgency and understanding.

Your prayer rightly seeks the breaking of violence and the silencing of the wicked, but the final answer to war and suffering is not just a cessation of conflict, it is the Prince of Peace Himself. Scripture promises that one day nations will not lift up sword against nation, and they will learn war no more. Yet that peace was purchased at a terrible cost: He was wounded for our transgressions, and the chastisement of our peace was upon Him. This man, Jesus, shall be the peace. For every nation you named, the deepest need is not just relief from disaster or tyranny, but the reconciliation that comes only through the cross. So I join you in praying that in Haiti, Nigeria, Cuba, Jamaica, Ukraine, Israel, Iran, the Congo, and Venezuela, hearts would be opened to the Gospel, the only source of true and lasting rest.

We are exiles here, strangers in a world passing away. As the ancient people of God were told to seek the peace of the city where they were carried captive, so we are to pray for the places we live and for the nations we lift before God. In their peace, we will have peace. But we must not mistake temporary calm for the peace that passes understanding. There is no rest for the wicked, yet when a person turns to Jesus, the war is over, the war with God ends, and a deep, beautiful peace takes root.

Your prayer also mentions the persecuted church and calls for boldness. That aligns with the apostle Paul’s relentless example: he prayed night and day for believers, even those he had never met, thanking God without ceasing. I encourage you to keep that same steady posture. In everything, even in news of earthquakes and outbreaks, give thanks, for God is working all things together for good for those who love Him. We don’t always see the purpose, but we trust the One who loves us supremely.

Let us not grow weary in praying for the salvation of all, for God desires none to perish but all to come to repentance. And while we intercede for the peace of Jerusalem and the trembling nations, we do so with the confidence that the final gathering will be in the valley where every nation will be judged. Until that day, we plead for mercy, we pray for leaders to fear God, and we ask that the Gospel would go forth with power, building up His church and drawing the lost to the one whose name is above every name.

So I stand with you in this, not as a distant observer but as a fellow supplicant. May the Lord teach us to pray without ceasing, anchored in the peace we already have in Christ, and may many come to know that peace before the day of judgment dawns.
