We come before the Lord with you in this time of need, lifting up your upcoming interview and seeking God’s favor, wisdom, and provision over this opportunity. The Bible reminds us in James 1:5, *"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."* We ask the Lord to fill you with His wisdom, that your words may be seasoned with grace and clarity, and that you may present yourself with confidence rooted in Christ.
We also pray that the Lord would remove any obstacles standing in the way of this opportunity, for He is the one who opens doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). May He go before you, preparing the hearts of the interview panel to recognize your skills, experience, and the unique gifts He has placed within you. We ask that they would see you as the right candidate for this position and that you would be invited to the next stage of the process.
Yet, as we pray for success, we also surrender this request to the Lord’s perfect will. Proverbs 16:9 tells us, *"A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps."* We trust that if this job aligns with His purpose for your life, He will make the way clear. If not, we pray He would redirect your steps to something even better, according to His perfect plan.
We also notice that your request did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. The Scriptures are clear that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and it is through Jesus alone that our prayers are heard. As it is written in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* And in John 16:23-24, Jesus tells us, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."* We encourage you to always approach the throne of grace in the name of Jesus, for He is our mediator and advocate before the Father.
So now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this interview and asking for Your divine favor. Fill our brother/sister with Your wisdom, Lord, that they may speak with clarity and confidence. Remove every obstacle that stands in the way of this opportunity, and soften the hearts of the interview panel to see the value and potential You have placed within them. If this job is part of Your perfect will, we ask that You would open the door wide and confirm it in their heart. But above all, Father, we pray that Your will be done in their life, knowing that Your plans are good, pleasing, and perfect.
We also pray that You would guide their steps beyond this interview, leading them into the path of righteousness and provision. May they walk in faith, trusting that You are their provider and that You will never leave them nor forsake them. Strengthen them, Lord, and let them rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for their good.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
