🙇🏻 Prayer for Strength to Endure Coming Storms Lk21:36, Fruitfully Abiding in Him Jn15:7-8, Prepared for Birth Pangs Mt24:8 of New Creation Heb12:2

You tremble at the gathering clouds, yet our Lord Himself taught us to read the sky. These wars, famines, upheavals, they are not the death throes of a world abandoned, but the labor pangs of a kingdom that cannot be shaken. Do you not hear the apostle crying out that we are pressed but not crushed, perplexed but not driven to despair? The trial descends, but the outcome is withheld by the mighty hand of God, who permits the storm precisely to anchor you more deeply in the uncreated love from which no power, no depth, no created thing can sever you. The pangs are real, but the mother forgets her anguish for joy that a man is born into the world. So it shall be with you: what now feels like a rending of heaven and earth is Christ bringing many sons to glory.

Cling then to the Vine, not with a slack grip, but with all the tenacity of one who knows that apart from Him you can do nothing. You ask for strength to stand before the Son of Man, good. But know this: the strength is given to those who do not merely wait, but who actively watch, who keep the heart from being weighed down with the cares of this life. The one who endures to the end shall be saved. Endurance is not a passive resignation; it is the steadfastness of a soul convinced that the Giver of the birth is also the Finisher of the faith. He has told you all this beforehand so that when it happens, you may believe, not panic.

Do not suppose these tribulations signal God’s absence. Far from it. As I have often said, He tempted Abraham not to learn anything Himself, but to display the patriarch’s virtue for all to see. Your own trials serve the same purpose: they are the furnace in which your faith shines brighter, the wrestling ground where your love is trained to grow strong. And when you ask for daily bread, ask also for a love that does not grow cold. Lawlessness abounds, yes, and many hearts freeze over, but let your heart be warmed at the bundle of myrrh, Christ Himself, who intercedes for you at the right hand of power. He prayed that your faith would not fail; that prayer is stronger than every earthquake.

This is the very mystery of the new creation: you have been born of water and the Spirit, not of perishable seed. But that birth must be guarded. Grace gives the washing; your own earnestness preserves the purity. Do not draw back to carnal reasoning, like Nicodemus, who could not fathom a heavenly generation. Be faithful, that is, commit your greatest blessings to faith’s teaching, not to the weakness of human logic. The Spirit who began this good work in you will bring it to completion as you abide, bear fruit, and strengthen your brethren. You ask to introduce others to Christ’s love: this is the labor of a mother in the gospel. Such cares are sweet, even when they pierce. I myself have said that though another begets, I am yet in travail until Christ be formed in you. So pour out your life for the weak, for the fallen, for the fearful, this is the ministry of reconciliation, the very fragrance of the new creation.

Therefore, let not your heart be troubled. The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will mount guard over your heart and mind. The end shall come, and the end is Christ, who is the Yes to every promise. Heaven and earth will indeed pass away, but not His words. You have built your house on that rock. Let the rains descend and the winds blow; you shall not fall, for you are receiving a kingdom unshakable. Rejoice in advance, give thanks in the night, and worship with holy awe, our God is a consuming fire, but to you He is a Father who brings His children through the flood and into the light of day.

Your prayer echoes a deep longing to stay anchored in Christ as the world trembles. That same hope stirred among believers long ago, when persecution was intense and some feared that the great tribulation had already swallowed them. The apostle Paul moved quickly to steady their hearts: he made it clear that what they were suffering, though real and painful, was not the day of God’s wrath. That overwhelming judgment remains ahead, reserved for a world that rejects the Son, and Scripture could not be plainer that we are not appointed to wrath but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

So let your heart be at rest. The increasing turmoil, the birth pangs Jesus spoke of, the shaking of nations and systems, these are not the judgment falling on you. They are the labor pains of a creation longing for redemption, and we who belong to the Day do not cower as those who have no hope. The One who walked on the water is the same Lord who is your strength and your shield; He will not let the deep swallow you. When the earth reels, your soul can sing, because God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

I see in your prayer a right hunger: to abide in the Vine, to bear fruit, to be found watchful and prayerful, escaping being weighed down by the cares of this life. That is the posture Jesus calls for in every generation. The Spirit is training you now, in smaller trials, to fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith, so that when heavier storms blow you will already be deeply rooted in His unshakable kingdom. This is not about stockpiling survival huts for a tribulation you are not destined to endure; it is about letting the peace of Christ rule in your heart today, and letting His Word dwell in you richly.

The very prayer you offered, saturated with Scripture, is itself evidence that the Spirit is strengthening your inner man. You are already doing what you ask: you are confessing that nothing created can separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus. So continue to come boldly to the throne of grace. Ask daily for strength to stand before the Son of Man with joy, not fear. Ask for that abiding connection to the Vine, so that your life bears the quiet, lasting fruit of love, joy, peace, and patience even when everything around you seems unsteady.

Remember, you are not called to survive the coming wrath but to be an ambassador of the new creation now, reconciling others to God while it is still the day of salvation. And when the Lord descends with a shout, you will be caught up to meet Him, and so we shall always be with the Lord. Until then, may the God of peace guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. The One who promised is faithful, and His strength is made perfect in your weakness.
