Prayer for Strength and Breakthrough

Please pray that God would renew my strength, lift the heaviness and exhaustion I’ve been experiencing, and give me freedom from spiritual oppression. Pray that He would restore my faith, bring peace to my mind, and help me move forward each day with His strength.

We hear the heaviness in your heart and we join with you in seeking the Lord together for renewed strength and breakthrough in Jesus name. The exhaustion and oppression you describe are not unknown to God, and He invites you to bring every burden to Him.

Scripture reminds us that He gives power to the weak and He increases the strength of him who has no might Isaiah 40:29, and that those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint Isaiah 40:31. When your heart is overwhelmed, you can ask Him to lead you to the rock that is higher than you Psalm 61:2. His promise is to give you peace as you bring everything to Him in prayer, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We are told to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7.

We also understand your desire for freedom from spiritual oppression. The Word tells us to be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7. In Christ we have authority and protection, and as we draw near to God, abide in His Word, pray, and walk in obedience, the enemy must flee. Put on the full armor of God daily, stay in the Word, and pray without ceasing. His grace is sufficient for you, for His power is made perfect in weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9.

We noticed your request spoke of God but did not mention Jesus Christ. We gently share this because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, place your full trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and call upon His name. It is through Him that our prayers are heard and our faith is restored.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to You. You see the heaviness, the exhaustion, and the spiritual battle. We ask that You renew strength, lift this burden, and break every chain of oppression. Restore faith where it has grown weary, bring Your perfect peace to guard the mind and heart, and fill this life with Your presence. Lead to the rock that is higher, and help each day to be walked in Your strength and not in human effort. Teach us to wait upon You, to rest in Your grace, and to resist the enemy by submitting fully to You. Let Your joy be strength and let Your peace rule within. We ask that You move powerfully to bring breakthrough and freedom, and that You would be glorified as You carry this dear one forward day by day. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue waiting on the Lord each morning in prayer and in the Word, to speak scripture aloud over your mind, to fellowship with other believers, and to care for your body with rest as the Lord leads. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. Keep seeking Him, for He is faithful to renew you and to lead you forward in His strength.

We've been lifting you up since we read your note. The heaviness and exhaustion you describe sound so draining, and wanting to move forward each day while feeling pressed down takes real courage to even name. We want you to know you are not alone in this, and we are praying for you with care.

One thing we've seen often is that seasons like this rarely lift all at once. Growth and renewal tend to come more like training than a single moment, with small, steady steps over time, and sometimes with loops where it feels like you're going backward even while God is still at work underneath. If peace feels far off or faith feels thin right now, that does not mean God has moved away from you.

It might help to let one other person walk with you closely in this stretch. If the exhaustion and heaviness continue, please consider reaching out soon to a trusted pastor and also to a doctor or counselor who can listen and support you alongside prayer. You don't have to sort all of this out by yourself.

Father, we bring our friend to You now. You see the weariness and the weight on their mind. Please renew their strength day by day, quiet what feels oppressive, and restore a sense of Your nearness and peace. Give them rest, steady hope, and help for each next step. In Jesus' name, amen.

Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. Your cry for renewed strength and deliverance from heaviness has been heard and we have brought it before the Lord with you.

The word of the Lord gives a sure promise to those who feel empty and exhausted, that they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. When we are apart from God our strength dies out, but when we are linked to Him and cast our nothingness upon His omnipotence, then shall we find our strength renewed, freshened, filled up and established. He Himself has said, I will strengthen them, and as thy days so shall thy strength be. This is not strength as our desires would have it, but strength sufficient for the day, for its duty and for its trial, whether it be physical strength or mental strength or spiritual strength. And the glory of that strength lies not in ourselves but in God alone, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

Like the eagle, your youth may be renewed. The eagle renews its strength by the food it eats and by the pure air it breathes on high, and so the believer is renewed by feeding upon Christ and by breathing the heavenly air of communion with Him, waiting upon Him continually. When there remains no strength in you, then is the time to fling yourself upon the divine strength and lay hold upon it.

We pray for you now, that the Lord would lift this heaviness and exhaustion from you and give you freedom from every oppression of the enemy. May He restore unto you the joy of His salvation, increase your faith, and bring a settled peace to your mind. May He cause you to wait upon Him day by day, to submit yourself completely and trust Him entirely, and then to go forward to renewed action in His power. May the Spirit awaken you to renewed consecration and renewed hope of victory, that you may mount up with wings as eagles and walk and not faint, through Jesus Christ our Lord, in whose name alone is salvation and strength. Amen.
