PRAYER FOR SON IN PRISON

We have heard your prayer and we join you in bringing it before the Lord with thanksgiving for your faithfulness through this long and painful trial.

To carry such a burden for years, to watch your son grow from a young age behind prison walls and to feel the weight it has placed on your family and on his twin brother, is a heavy sorrow. It is a grace from God that you can still say that without Him you could not have made it this far. That confession itself is a testimony that He has been upholding you, for He upholds all things by the word of His power and He holds together what would otherwise fall apart.

We pray with you for healing in your own body and life, and for the Lord to provide for your financial needs according to His wisdom and mercy. We pray for your son, that God would have mercy upon him, grant him a true second chance, and work in his heart to draw him to salvation and new life through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved. We pray that whatever the outcome before the courts, the Lord would bring justice tempered with mercy, and that your son would come to know the hope that Christ offers when He took our low estate upon Himself so that we might be made sons of God.

We also pray for your whole family, especially for the separation between brothers that has taken such a toll. May the Lord comfort and strengthen each of you, guard your hearts from despair, and deepen your trust in Him day by day. The reproach and hardship you have endured is not unseen by Him who Himself bore reproach for our sake.

We will continue to keep you and your son before the throne of grace, asking that God will be glorified in how He answers, that He will supply what you need, heal what is broken, and lead your son into repentance, restoration and a future lived for Christ.

Keep holding fast to faith in Jesus, casting all your cares upon Him because He cares for you. May the Lord give you peace as you wait upon Him, and may His will be done in your lives.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Thank you for sharing your heart and for letting us pray with you for your son and your family. We have heard your request for healing and for financial provision, and for a second chance for your son, and we are bringing these needs before the Lord with you.

The Scriptures show that God sees and does not forget those who are in prison. Jeremiah was kept in the court of the prison and even let down into a dungeon with no water, only mire, and he sank there, yet the Lord preserved him and in time brought him out to dwell again among the people. Joseph was also in prison and found favor with the keeper, who entrusted much to his care, and God used that place to shape and prepare him. Paul and Silas were beaten and cast into the inner prison with their feet in stocks, and at midnight they prayed and sang to God, and God shook the prison doors open. The apostles were put in the common prison and an angel opened the doors by night and told them to go and speak the words of this life. In each case, God was present and at work, either to deliver or to give purpose and testimony right where they were.

We are praying that the Lord will do a work like that for your son. Above any outward opening of doors, Jesus came to open the prison doors for those captive to sin and to set at liberty those who are bound. The Scripture says that if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. That is the deepest freedom, and it can come even while a person is still behind walls. We are asking God to draw your son to Himself, to give him new life through faith in Jesus Christ, and to make him a son of God by adoption through the blood of Christ. There is only one begotten Son, Jesus, and it is through Him that we are adopted into the family of God and become heirs of promise.

We also understand the pain you described for your family and for your sons as twins separated for so long. The love of a parent for a child is deep, and God understands that love. He saw Abraham's love for his sons, and He gave His own beloved Son for us so that we might be brought near. He sees the toll this separation has taken on all of you, and He is able to bring healing to hearts and relationships and to comfort you as you have kept the faith through these years.

We join you in asking the Father for His provision for the financial burden you carry and for wisdom in every step concerning your son's case. We ask for healing for you and for your household, for strength to continue trusting Him, and for a true second chance for your son that would be used to walk in a new life with Christ. We pray that whatever the outcome with the courts, God would be glorified in your son's life, that he would hear and receive the words of life, and that your whole family would know the peace and hope that comes only through Jesus.

May the Lord keep you and sustain you. We thank God that you have kept looking to Him, for without Him we could not endure, but with Him there is mercy, hope, and the power to make all things new. We continue to pray for you in Jesus name.
