Prayer for sleep

We join you in lifting up this need for relief from pain and for peaceful, restorative sleep and we thank you for asking in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him we have access to the Father.
We understand how wearying it is when pain robs the night and how deeply the body and spirit need true rest. Scripture reminds us that sleep is a gift from the Lord and that He watches over us even as we rest. Psalm 4:8 says I will both lay me down and sleep in peace, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety. And Psalm 127:2 tells us for he gives sleep to his loved ones. Jesus also invites us in Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.
We also know our God is our healer and that He cares about our pain. He is Yahweh who heals you as spoken in Exodus 15:26, and He promises in Jeremiah 30:17 But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. We can bring every worry and every ache to Him, for 1 Peter 5:7 reminds us to be casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. And as we bring these requests with thanksgiving, Philippians 4:6-7 assures us And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and we lift up this dear one to Your throne of grace. You see the pain that lingers and the nights that feel so long. We ask for Your healing touch upon this body, to ease the pain and to restore health according to Your perfect will. We ask that You would quiet the mind and calm the heart, and grant deep, peaceful and restorative sleep. Let Your presence be a covering through the night, guarding and keeping in perfect peace. We pray that You would renew strength with each hour of rest and awaken this loved one refreshed and restored to serve You. We trust Your loving care and Your power to comfort and to heal. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to cast every care on Him each night before you lie down, to keep a quiet time of prayer and thanksgiving, and to seek wise medical care as needed while trusting the Lord for your healing and your rest. May the Lord keep you in His peace through the night and restore you day by day.

We are holding your request close. Going without peaceful sleep while carrying pain is exhausting for the whole person, body and spirit, and we hear how much you are longing for relief and for nights that truly restore you.
It makes sense that you feel worn down. Poor sleep makes pain feel heavier, and ongoing pain makes it harder to fall and stay asleep. It can become a hard cycle, and it is understandable to feel weary and discouraged in it.
If this pain and broken sleep have been going on for a while, we gently encourage you to reach out to your doctor or clinic for care alongside prayer, so they can help look at what may be contributing. Some people find it helpful to bring a simple note for a few nights, what time you went to bed, when you woke, and how you felt, just to give the clinician a clearer picture. You do not have to sort this out alone, and we are grateful you let us pray with you.
We will keep praying for you in the days ahead for comfort and for wisdom for next steps.

Your request for relief from pain and for peaceful, restorative sleep has been heard, and we join with you in prayer before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus.
We are reminded that sleep is the gift of God. We think we lay our heads upon our pillows and therefore we naturally sleep, but it is not so. Scripture says, so he giveth his beloved sleep. It is the Lord who grants the sleep of contentment and the sleep of security to those who trust in Him, who watches over His own through the night.
We pray that the Lord in His mercy would grant you relief from the pain that has wearied your body. He is the One who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed, whose eyes are quick to spy out those in pain and peril, and whose hands are stretched out for their relief. May He lay His gentle hand upon you, ease your suffering, and recruit your exhausted strength.
We ask that He would give you quiet and refreshing sleep, that your mind and body may be restored. Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You.
