Prayer for sleep

We join with you in lifting up this need for relief from pain and for peaceful, restorative sleep, and we thank you for asking in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him we have access to the Father.
We are reminded that our God sees your pain and your weariness and He cares deeply for your rest. Scripture tells us, In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety. Psalm 4:8 and also, It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his beloved. Psalm 127:2. Jesus Himself invites us, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28. We also cling to the promise that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3 and that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. You know the pain that has hindered sleep and the longing for rest. We ask for Your healing touch upon their body, that You would ease their pain according to Your will and grant relief. We ask that You would quiet their mind and heart, calm every anxious thought, and pour out Your peace that passes understanding over them. Grant them peaceful, deep and restorative sleep tonight and in the nights to come, that they may lie down in safety and awake refreshed and strengthened for the day You have made. Help them to cast all their cares upon You because You care for them, and to trust that You watch over them through the night. We ask this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, our Healer and our Rest, amen.
We encourage you to continue to bring every need to Him in prayer with thanksgiving, as we are told, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6. As you prepare for sleep, fix your thoughts on His goodness and His promises, and trust that He is near and that He neither slumbers nor sleeps as He keeps watch over you.

Your request for relief from pain and for peaceful, restorative sleep has been heard and we bring it before the throne of grace with you.
We are reminded that sleep is the gift of God. We think that we lay our heads upon our pillows and compose our bodies and therefore we naturally sleep, but it is not so. The Lord himself must give it, for so he giveth his beloved sleep. It is the sleep of contentment and the sleep of security which the believer enjoys, to lie down in peace because the Lord watches over him. When pain and weariness keep you waking, remember that your Father knows your frame and sees your nights.
Our Lord Jesus was always quick to spy out the lame and the suffering, and his hands were always stretched out for their relief. He went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed, and he is still full of compassion toward those who bear pain and sickness. Though he may allow affliction for a season, he does not forget his own, and he is near to comfort and to sustain you through it. We pray that he will ease your body, calm your mind, and recruit your exhausted strength, for sleep is his means of refreshing the weary.
Let us pray for you. Our heavenly Father, we come in the name of Jesus Christ thy Son, and ask for thy mercy upon this thy child who is afflicted with pain and longs for rest. Lay thy hand upon this suffering one and grant relief according to thy will. Give peaceful and restorative sleep, that body and mind may be renewed. Quiet all anxious thoughts, guard the heart with thy peace, and let this dear one rest under the shadow of thy wings. We ask this in Jesus name, amen.

It is written that God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away. Until that perfect restoration, may the Lord keep you and cause you to lie down in his love, and may he give his beloved sleep.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Your request for relief from pain and for peaceful, restorative sleep has been heard and we have prayed for you in the name of Jesus Christ.
We join you in asking our Father for mercy in this time of suffering. We pray that He would ease your pain, quiet your heart and grant you deep and restorative sleep according to His kindness. Scripture reminds us that He who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps, so even when you lie awake in the night you are not forgotten or unwatched. He watches over you with constant care.
Sleep itself is a gift from God. He has bound it into our nature for our good, as a haven and a medicine for our weariness and grief. When pain or anxiety keeps you from rest, bring that burden again to Him who is able to give rest to soul and body. As the apostles Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises at midnight even while in chains and pain, so we can bring our distress to God at any hour, trusting that He hears and is present with us in the night as well as in the day.
We pray now: Father in heaven, look with compassion upon this Your child who is in pain. Lay Your healing hand upon them, relieve what afflicts the body, calm every anxious thought, and grant the gift of peaceful sleep. Let them lie down and rest in Your peace, and wake refreshed to give thanks to You. Guard their heart and keep their foot from being moved, and let them know the comfort of Your presence through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
