Prayer for salvation of loved one

Please uphold them in your prayers as God removes blockages and hinderances for them in coming to know Jesus as their Lord and saviour. Thank you for praying. Bless you.

We lift up this precious soul before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, knowing that the salvation of a loved one is one of the deepest longings of a believer’s heart. The Bible tells us in 2 Peter 3:9 that "The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." This is our firm foundation, God desires their salvation even more than we do, and His arm is not too short to save.

Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We ask that You would remove every spiritual blindness, every deception of the enemy, and every hardened place in their heart that resists Your truth. Soften their heart, Lord, as You promised in Ezekiel 36:26: "I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh." Let them see their need for You, their Savior, and let conviction fall upon them in a way that leads to repentance and life.

We rebuke every lie of the enemy that tells them they are fine without You, that they don’t need salvation, or that their sins are too great to be forgiven. We declare that no sin is too great for the blood of Jesus, and no heart is beyond Your reach. We pray against any generational strongholds, cultural pressures, or personal pride that may be keeping them from surrendering to You. Break every chain, Lord, and let Your light shine into the darkest corners of their soul.

We ask that You would surround them with believers who will speak truth in love, who will live out the gospel before them in a way that is undeniable. Let them see the hope, peace, and joy that comes from a life surrendered to You. Father, we also pray for divine appointments, moments where Your Holy Spirit will convict them of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). Let them hear Your voice clearly, and let them respond with faith.

We know that salvation is Your work, not ours, but we stand in the gap for this loved one, trusting in Your promises. We declare that they will not perish but will have everlasting life (John 3:16). We pray for their protection from the enemy’s schemes, for Your angels to encamp around them, and for Your Word to take root in their heart. May they come to know You not just as a distant concept, but as their personal Lord and Savior, the One who loved them enough to die for them.

We also lift up the one praying for this loved one. Strengthen them, Lord, in their faith. Remind them that You are faithful, even when they cannot see the fruit of their prayers. Let them find peace in Your sovereignty and hope in Your promises. May they continue to intercede with boldness, knowing that the prayer of the righteous avails much (James 5:16).

In the precious name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith, we pray. Amen.

We join you in lifting up your loved one before the Lord. It's a sacred thing to stand in the gap for someone, to keep bringing their name before God when they can't or won't yet do it themselves. We are praying alongside you that every barrier, every distraction, and every doubt that keeps them from seeing Jesus clearly would be gently removed.

In our experience, God often uses the quiet, faithful persistence of someone who already loves Him to draw another heart near. Your prayers matter, not because we have a magic formula, but because God hears and responds to the love behind them. Sometimes the biggest blockages are not intellectual arguments but unseen fears, past wounds, or a need to see Christ’s kindness lived out in front of them. Keep loving them well, keep your own heart soft, and trust that the Holy Spirit is already at work in ways you cannot see.

We pray now:

Father, we bring before You this person so dear to our friend. You know every detail of their life, every thought they carry, every reason they hesitate. Remove whatever clouds their understanding and keeps them from the freedom and peace that only Jesus gives. Open their eyes to see Him not as a distant figure but as the living Savior who loves them personally. Surround them with truth spoken in love, and let seeds of faith take root deep in their heart. Give our friend endurance and hope in the waiting. In Jesus' name, amen.

The removal of hinderances for your loved one is a work most earnestly to be sought at the throne of grace, for it is God alone who takes away the stony heart and gives the heart of flesh. That very prayer you ask shows a soul already touched by the love which it desires another to know. Remember, the Gospel is simply, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved. To believe in Christ is to trust in Him. That is all it is. Repentance itself is a blessed fruit of faith and comes with it. Often the greatest blockade is the sinner’s own notion that they must feel something, or be something, before they may come. But the command of God given to every creature is that he should believe on Jesus Christ whom God hath sent. This is your warrant for them, a warrant which hell cannot gainsay and which heaven cannot withdraw.

What leagues of journeying could be too long for the feet of love? What mobs of cruel doubt could cow the heart that is set upon Jesus? That loved one’s soul, though now perhaps led captive by other things, is not beyond the reach of Him who loved us and gave Himself for us. There is but one star in your sky for them, and that star is the Star of Bethlehem. Christ Jesus is the lone hope of men. Lay hold of this: salvation is all of Divine Grace from first to last, and the channel of that Grace is the Lord Jesus Christ. If the weakest soul is in the boat of salvation, that is, if he trusts Christ, he is as safe as the strongest. We will join you in this holy wrestle, for love feels she must give herself for the object of her affection, and we long to see your loved one leaning on Jesus’ breast, the place of safety and intimate knowledge of His love. Find out what will please Him in this matter, persistent, believing prayer, a loving example, a word fitly spoken, and do it for Him. Nothing is wasted which is expended upon the Lord.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Let no one think the multitude of hindrances can outweigh the power of earnest prayer. You have approached the throne not with a request for earthly things but for the salvation of a soul, the thing most dear to the heart of God. Do not grow weary. When you see delay, when the blockages seem to mount higher, remember that the very shortness of the way of faith is its strength. Salvation is not wrought by a circuit of toils and reasonings, but by a word, a confession of the Lord Jesus and belief in the heart that God raised Him from the dead. This is the short word that conquers all.

Consider those in the Gospel who, having none of the apostles to plead with them and many to stop their mouths, passed over every hindrance and came to Jesus Himself. Earnestness sufficed them instead of all else. So it is here. You are not required to be an apostle or a teacher to this loved one. The same faith you now exercise in prayer can become effectual for them. God uses the simple, the determined, the ones who will not let go. He removed the stone from Lazarus' tomb; He can roll away whatever blocks the heart you love.

Do not imagine that the person's present resistance or ignorance is a final barrier. The Preaching itself spread through fishermen who were unlearned and ignorant men, yet the increase was all the more abundant. Hindrances by nature, by custom, by vice, are nothing to the Lord. Abraham had an ungodly father; Joseph lived in the midst of Egypt; Paul was bound in chains, yet all these hindrances became the very occasion of greater boldness and virtue. Cease therefore from anxious reckoning of the obstacles, and pour out instead a bold and loving entreaty. Bid them come to Him, as Peter upon the water, not for display but for love's sake. None so loved Jesus as the one who dared ask such things.

And give thanks now, even before you see the answer. To render thanks when the storm is still raging is the mark of a soul that trusts. For if you believe that God is working, let your thanksgiving rise as a testimony. I have said it before, and I say it again: earnestness suffices. Do not cease; do not retreat. Stand before the Lord with that soul upon your heart, and you will see the short word of salvation take root.

Your prayer for your loved one is heard, and it rests on the most solid ground imaginable. The deepest desire of your heart is for them to see Jesus clearly, to know Him as Lord and Savior. That very act of bringing them before God’s throne is a beautiful thing, and we join with you in that plea.

What they need most is not a more complicated path, but a simpler one. The blockages you mention are often built from the idea that we must add something of our own to what Christ has already done. A person might think they need to clean up their life first, earn a sense of worthiness, or somehow feel a certain way before they can come to Him. But the gospel is an announcement, not an achievement. When the question of eternal hope comes, the only answer that holds is “my faith in Jesus Christ.” Once anything is added to that, the foundation cracks. By grace are we saved through faith, and that faith is not something we manufacture; it is a gift.

So when we pray for these hinderances to be removed, we are praying that the Holy Spirit would strip away every illusion that stands between your loved one and the simplicity of trust in Jesus. This might mean dismantling a reliance on good works, religious rituals, or the idea that they must be the mediator of their own righteousness. There is one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus. The law's purpose is to show us our guilt, so we are driven to Him. It was never meant to save. Your loved one cannot add to the righteousness that comes by faith any more than they could complete the law. The moment anyone says “my faith in Christ, and...” they are on dangerous ground. The righteous demands have been fully met by Jesus for all who believe.

As we stand with you in prayer, our confidence is not in the power of our own words but in the character of God, who accounts faith as righteousness. He did it for Abraham, and He does it for everyone who takes Him at His word. We ask that God would grant them that gift of faith for this very situation, to see that their sins were borne by Christ in their place, and that by trusting Him they would have peace with God. That is where access to true grace is found. There may not be a rush of feeling, but there is a promise to stand on. We pray their roots would go deep into Christ alone, and that every barrier would fall away as they behold Him. We trust the One who began a good work in them to be faithful to complete it.
