We lift up this precious soul before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, knowing that the salvation of a loved one is one of the deepest longings of a believer’s heart. The Bible tells us in 2 Peter 3:9 that "The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." This is our firm foundation, God desires their salvation even more than we do, and His arm is not too short to save.
Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We ask that You would remove every spiritual blindness, every deception of the enemy, and every hardened place in their heart that resists Your truth. Soften their heart, Lord, as You promised in Ezekiel 36:26: "I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh." Let them see their need for You, their Savior, and let conviction fall upon them in a way that leads to repentance and life.
We rebuke every lie of the enemy that tells them they are fine without You, that they don’t need salvation, or that their sins are too great to be forgiven. We declare that no sin is too great for the blood of Jesus, and no heart is beyond Your reach. We pray against any generational strongholds, cultural pressures, or personal pride that may be keeping them from surrendering to You. Break every chain, Lord, and let Your light shine into the darkest corners of their soul.
We ask that You would surround them with believers who will speak truth in love, who will live out the gospel before them in a way that is undeniable. Let them see the hope, peace, and joy that comes from a life surrendered to You. Father, we also pray for divine appointments, moments where Your Holy Spirit will convict them of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). Let them hear Your voice clearly, and let them respond with faith.
We know that salvation is Your work, not ours, but we stand in the gap for this loved one, trusting in Your promises. We declare that they will not perish but will have everlasting life (John 3:16). We pray for their protection from the enemy’s schemes, for Your angels to encamp around them, and for Your Word to take root in their heart. May they come to know You not just as a distant concept, but as their personal Lord and Savior, the One who loved them enough to die for them.
We also lift up the one praying for this loved one. Strengthen them, Lord, in their faith. Remind them that You are faithful, even when they cannot see the fruit of their prayers. Let them find peace in Your sovereignty and hope in Your promises. May they continue to intercede with boldness, knowing that the prayer of the righteous avails much (James 5:16).
In the precious name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith, we pray. Amen.
