Prayer for ###'s surgery

We join you in thanking Jesus for His faithfulness and for His gracious kindness and mercy that meets us even in our anxiousness. We are encouraged by your trust that even when you feel no immediate response, you can rest assured that every prayer goes through to our Father who hears.
The Word reminds us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 and casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7. We take comfort that He indeed cares for your loved one facing surgery and for you as you wait and intercede.
We also cling to His promise as the healer, He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3 and For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Jeremiah 30:17. He has not left you alone in this, for He says, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace with thanksgiving for Your faithfulness. We lift up this dear one who is facing surgery to You. We ask for Your mercy and kindness to rest upon them. Guide the hands and minds of the surgeons, nurses, and all the medical team, give them wisdom, skill, and clarity. We pray for a successful procedure, for protection from complications, for relief from pain, and for complete healing and restoration according to Your will. We pray for Your peace which surpasses all understanding to guard the heart and mind of this dear one and of the one who is praying, casting away all anxiousness and fear. Let them feel Your presence and know that every prayer is heard. We thank You that we can come to You only through Jesus, and we trust in His name and His grace. Comfort and strengthen all who love and wait, and let this trial bring glory to You and deeper trust in Your goodness. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.

How good it is to read your thanksgiving mingled with trembling, for you have learned that our God is gracious to the anxious heart and shows kindness with mercy. You have declared your ways unto Him, and He has heard you, and that is the comfort of a child of God who often sees his Father's face and speaks with Him and hears His voice in return. Where God begins to work He does not ask us to finish, for He always completes His own work.
When you fear, trust also in Him. You go and do the right thing and then be no longer anxious about it, but leave the result with God. Anxiety cannot guide the surgeon's hand, but prayer can move the hand that moves the world. Bow yourself before the mighty hand of God, ready to receive as He pleases, for when your will entirely yields to the will of God, it is highly probable that either the affliction will be removed, or else the sting of it will be taken away. I will cry unto God most high, unto God that performeth all things for me. Do you pray like that, and you may rest assured that all messages go through when they go through the one Priest before the throne who can offer acceptable sacrifice, even Jesus Christ His dear Son who offers Himself forever. It is worse than presumption not to believe God, and it is true humility to take Him at His word and to believe that whosoever trusts in the blood of Christ is heard at Headquarters and there can be no mistake about it.
Let us pray together for ###. May the Lord who is the God of the hills and the God of the valleys be present in that operating room as surely as He is present in your closet. May He give skill and steadiness to the hands that operate, and keep and comfort ### in weakness and in waking. May He remember mercy in this time of need, and may He teach you both His statutes through this trial. We ask this not upon any merit of our own, for it is impossible for any one of us to obtain merit before God, but wholly upon the finished work of Christ, for there is salvation in no other, and we have no other ground of confidence before the living God.
Be of good courage. He loved His people before the Saviour came, and His goodness goes before us still. Humble yourselves therefore under His mighty hand, that He may exalt you in due time, and cast all your care upon Him, for He careth for you.

God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You.
