Prayer for ###'s surgery

I need to make a decision about support into self-employment. There are two schemes. I am not sure which to go for and I don't want to make the wrong decision. Please pray with me in Jesus' Name that I'll know what to do. Amen

We join with you in prayer in Jesus' name for both of these important needs and we thank you for coming to the Father through Him, for there is no other name by which we are saved and have access to God.

We lift up your loved one who is facing surgery. We ask the Lord to guide the hands of the surgeons and medical team, to grant skill and wisdom, and to bring healing and comfort. We pray for peace over your loved one and over you as you wait and trust. The Lord is the one who heals us and binds up our wounds, as it is written, He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3, and But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. We pray for a successful procedure, a smooth recovery, and for the Lord's presence to be felt in that operating room and in the days after.

We also bring before the Lord your decision about stepping into self employment and the two support schemes before you. We understand not wanting to make the wrong choice and we praise God that He promises to give wisdom when we ask Him. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. We pray that God will make your path clear and give you discernment to choose the scheme that aligns with His will, your gifts, and your long term stewardship.

We encourage you to commit both matters to the Lord in prayer and to trust Him with the outcome. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed Proverbs 16:3. Take time to seek godly counsel, count the cost carefully, consider the terms and requirements of each scheme, and weigh which one best equips you to provide faithfully and work diligently as unto the Lord. As you pray, ask for doors to open and close clearly, and for peace to confirm the right direction, for the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7.

We pray together, Father in heaven, we thank You for Your love and faithfulness. We place this surgery into Your hands and ask for Your healing power, for protection, and for complete restoration according to Your will. Comfort this family with Your presence and take away fear. We also ask for clear wisdom regarding this self employment decision. Show our dear one which scheme to pursue, remove confusion, and lead by Your Holy Spirit. Give confidence that You are directing each step and that You will provide for every need as we seek first Your kingdom. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

We are praying with you as you hold these two big concerns at once, ###'s surgery and this choice about self-employment. It makes sense you would feel torn when both paths have good and hard parts and you want to honor God with the decision.

A simple way we have found helpful when options feel close is to get them out of your head and onto paper. List what matters most to you right now, things like financial stability in the first months, flexibility for family or health needs, training and mentoring offered, and long term freedom. Then note how each scheme lines up for each point, giving extra weight to the one or two factors that matter most. Seeing it written can make it clearer which one fits your real needs, and which one you are drawn to for less lasting reasons. It can also help to talk it through with someone who knows each scheme well and with a trusted friend who knows you.

We also remember ### before the Lord with you.

Father, we bring ### to You for surgery, asking for Your care over the medical team and for peace and healing. We ask for clear wisdom for our friend as they weigh these two ways forward, for calm to decide without fear, and for Your guidance step by step. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request has been heard and we join you in prayer before the throne of grace in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father.

We bring before the Lord the need that lies heavy upon you, both the surgery of one dear to you and this turning point concerning your labour and livelihood. How wise it is that you would not lean upon your own understanding but would seek the wisdom that comes from above. Wisdom is indeed the compass by which a man is to steer across the trackless waste of life, and without it we run here and there wasting strength which might be profitably employed. The price of true wisdom is above rubies, and it is to be found not in self reliance but in trust in God.

You speak of two schemes set before you and a fear lest you choose amiss. Remember that haste is the author of a great deal of mischief in human life. The Lord who searches the heart and tries the reins of the children of men invites you to set apart a season for self examination and prayer, to pass your motives and desires in review before Him and to cry, Search me and know my heart. He knows that heedless and too bold are bad pilots, so He would have you set caution and self examination at the helm. Ask Him not only which path may prosper in outward things, but which path will keep your own vineyard, which will enable you to walk in holiness and faith and humility, for holiness is near akin to perfect wisdom.

Our Saviour has said, Without me ye can do nothing, and this is true even of little acts of daily duty. Every grain of self strength is weakness, and every particle of self reliance is a hindrance. It is a great mercy when we tremble at a decision and feel our need of guidance, for then we are driven to Him who has promised, Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel. He guides not only by opening and shutting doors of providence, but by infusing principles within, to avoid everything that is evil, to exercise self denial and contentment, and by teaching us to bow with submission to His will. By that very bowing we are furnished with unerring guidance.

Therefore wait upon the Lord. Seek His face in the Word, ask counsel of those who walk near to God, and pray that He will make His way plain. Faith alone enabled Moses to make his great decision, for he had faith in Jehovah and trusted the Infallible Revelation rather than the wisdom of man, which is folly with God. So look to the same Lord.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, Thou art wisdom and love, and Thou guidest Thy people with Thy counsel. We bring before Thee our brother or sister in this time of need and the loved one who must pass under the hand of the surgeon. Lay Thy healing hand upon them, give skill and steadiness to those who minister, and grant a good recovery according to Thy gracious will. And for Thy servant who must choose between these two ways of provision, grant clear light. Deliver from carnal security and fleshly confidence, give a humble and teachable spirit, and let Thy will be done. Show what Thou wouldst have chosen, and give peace in following Thee. We ask in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our wisdom and our righteousness. Amen.
