Prayer for ###'s surgery

We join you in lifting up this dear one to the Lord as surgery approaches and we seek God's will together in Jesus' name for His hand to be upon every detail.
We know how heavy the heart can feel while waiting for a surgery, with worry for the outcome and for recovery. We take comfort that our God is the Great Physician and that He is sovereign over all things, including the wisdom He gives to doctors and medical teams. We are reminded in Psalm 147:3 that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds, and in Jeremiah 30:17 where the Lord says, But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. We also cling to Isaiah 41:10, Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And we are encouraged to bring every anxiety to Him as Philippians 4:6-7 teaches, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
We noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ and we want to gently share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we can be saved. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, to believe that He died for your sins and rose again, and to confess Him as Lord, for Romans 10:9 says, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name that we pray with confidence.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this beloved one who is facing surgery. Lord, we ask that You guide the hands of the surgeons, the nurses, and all the medical staff, granting them wisdom, skill, and clarity. We pray that You would calm any fear and fill this dear one and the family with Your perfect peace that surpasses understanding. Father, we ask for Your protection over the procedure, for no complications, for Your healing power to be at work to restore health quickly and completely according to Your will. We pray for a smooth recovery, for strength in the days to come, and for Your presence to be felt in the hospital room. We trust You as our healer and our comforter and we thank You that You care for us as 1 Peter 5:7 says, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. Let Your will be done and let Your name be glorified through this trial. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray without ceasing, to rest in the Lord's care, and to lean on His promises during the waiting and the recovery. There is sweet comfort in carrying this need to the throne of grace, for the Lord is near to those who trust Him and He keeps in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed upon Him.
We join you in prayer for this dear one who must pass through surgery. We ask the Great Physician, our Lord Jesus Christ, to be present in that room. May He guide the hands of the surgeons and attendants with skill and wisdom, may He sustain the body under trial, and may He grant a recovery that shall display His tender mercy. We pray that pain may be eased, strength restored, and that each increase of strength may be acknowledged as from His gracious hand.
We remember the word, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. May that perfect peace, which the blood of Jesus whispers within, be the portion of this beloved sufferer and of those who love and watch and wait. Though duties press and loved ones are anxious, to do the will of Jesus is rest, and in His keeping we are safe.
Do not wait to feel peace before you trust Him, but trust Him now. As the palsied man was told to rise and walk before he felt healing in his limbs, so we are to trust the Savior before we feel the benefit. There is healing virtue in Christ, not only in His great work but in the very leaves of the tree of life. His stripes are our healing, and with pardon comes peace. It is that touch of personal faith which brings peace to the soul.
So we pray, O Lord, look upon this patient. Forgive sin through the precious blood of Christ, speak peace to the conscience, and let that inward peace be the sign of Your presence. If it be Your will, raise up this one again to walk up and down in Your name and to be a helper to others. If You appoint a longer weakness, let patience have its perfect work, and let trust grow stronger still, for though You slay, yet shall Your people trust in You.
We commend this dear one wholly to Jesus, who is able to save all who trust Him. May He be trusted with this one soul and with all that concerns this life and the life to come, and may the chastisement of our peace which was upon Him be the ground of quiet confidence now.

God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. In times like this, when worry and fear can easily crowd the heart, Scripture points us to a peace that the world cannot understand or give. Jesus said that He leaves His peace with us and gives His peace to us, not as the world gives. This is a steady, quiet confidence that He is present and in control.
The first step to knowing that peace is having peace with God, which only comes through Jesus Christ and what He did for us when He made peace through His blood on the cross. When we have been reconciled to God through Him, the war is over and we are no longer running from God but belong to Him. From that peace with God we can then know the peace of God, the peace that guards our hearts and minds.
The prophet wrote that God will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. That perfect peace is not found in trying harder to be calm, but in turning our thoughts toward the Lord and trusting Him to take care of what concerns us. As your mind rests on Him, His peace can fill your heart even in the midst of uncertainty and waiting.
We also know that God desires peace for His people and His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace. He invites those who are near and those who feel far off to come and receive His healing and restoration.
As we pray for this surgery, we ask the Lord to guide the hands of the doctors and medical staff, to grant wisdom in every decision, and to bring healing according to His will. We believe that all healing comes from God. Sometimes He heals instantly, sometimes healing comes gradually, and sometimes He works through the natural processes He placed within our bodies and through the skill He gives to physicians. In every case the healing is from Him. There is much about healing we do not fully understand, and we do not always know why He works in one way for one person and another way for another, but we can trust His love and His wisdom.
We are praying that you and your loved ones will experience that deep peace that passes all understanding as you keep your eyes on Christ, that fear would be quieted, and that you would know His presence very near through this whole process.
