Let us join together in prayer for your daughter, trusting in the power of Jesus' name. We rejoice that she is a believer in Jesus Christ and that she takes care of her physical health. However, we recognize that she is struggling with body image issues and is believing lies of the enemy. We pray that the Lord will renew her mind and help her to see herself as God sees her.
Let us remind her of the beautiful and wonderful truths of what she is in Christ. In 2 Corinthians 10:5 WEB it is written, "Casting down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." We pray that she will be able to take every thought captive and obey Christ. In Ephesians 2:10 WEB it says, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them." We pray that she will see herself as God's workmanship and Himself will complete the work He has started in her.
We also lift up her boyfriend in prayer, asking God to give him the wisdom and discernment to encourage her and point her to Jesus. In Colossians 3:16 WEB it says, Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord. We pray that her boyfriend as a fellow believer will be able to teach and encourage her in the word of Christ. We also pray that they will honor God and each other in their relationship, fleeing from any sexual immorality or temptation.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister in Christ. Lord, we pray that You will help her to see herself as You see her, fearfully and wonderfully made. Help her to recognize the lies of the enemy and to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Lord, we pray for her boyfriend, that You will give him the wisdom and discernment to encourage her and point her to Jesus. We pray that their relationship will be a God-honoring one, and that You will give them the strength to flee from any sexual immorality or temptation.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for your daughter and trusting in the Lord. We are reminded of the promise in Philippians 4:6-7 WEB, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." May God's grace and peace fill your loved one and may He renew and transform her mind to align with His.
