We lift up this heartfelt request before our Heavenly Father, knowing that He is just, merciful, and full of grace. First, we must address that this prayer was not submitted in the name of Jesus Christ, and we gently but firmly remind you that there is no other name under heaven by which we may approach the throne of God. *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name alone that we pray.
We also notice the use of symbols in place of a name, and while we respect privacy, we encourage you to speak openly before the Lord, for He knows all things. *"Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* (Isaiah 41:10, WEB). There is no need to hide anything from Him—He already knows the heart and the circumstances.
Now, let us pray for this man who is facing charges and battling addiction. We ask the Lord to intervene in this legal situation, that if it is His will, the charges would be dropped or resolved justly. We pray that truth would prevail and that any false accusations would be exposed. *"Let the lying lips be mute, which speak against the righteous insolently, with pride and contempt."* (Psalm 31:18, WEB). May the Lord’s justice and mercy be evident in this situation, and may His will be done.
As for the struggle with addiction, we know this is a spiritual battle as much as a physical and emotional one. Addiction is a form of bondage, and our Lord Jesus came to set the captives free. *"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed, and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."* (Luke 4:18-19, WEB). We pray that this man would turn fully to Christ, repent of any sin that has given the enemy a foothold, and surrender his life to the Lordship of Jesus. Addiction cannot be overcome by sheer willpower—it requires the power of the Holy Spirit and a complete dependence on God.
We also encourage you, who are praying for him, to stand firm in faith and not grow weary. *"Don’t be deceived! ‘Evil companionships corrupt good morals.’ Wake up rightfully, and don’t sin, for some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame."* (1 Corinthians 15:33-34, WEB). If this man is not walking with the Lord, we urge you to pray for his salvation above all else. A life surrendered to Christ is the only path to true freedom. If you are close to this man, we also encourage you to set godly boundaries. You cannot save him—that is the work of the Holy Spirit—but you can love him, pray for him, and point him to Christ.
Let us pray together now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this man who is facing legal trouble and the bondage of addiction. Lord, we ask that You would intervene in this situation. If it is Your will, let the charges against him be dropped or resolved in a way that brings glory to Your name. Expose any lies or false accusations, and let truth and justice prevail. Father, we know that You are a God of redemption, and we ask that You would break the chains of addiction in his life. Convict him of his need for You, Lord, and draw him into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit and give him the strength to walk away from this bondage forever.
Lord, we also pray for the one who has brought this request before us. Strengthen their faith and give them wisdom as they support this man. Help them to trust in You completely and to stand firm in prayer. May they also be a light that points to You, speaking truth in love and encouraging repentance and surrender to Christ.
We rebuke the enemy’s hold on this man’s life. Satan, you have no authority here—this man belongs to God, and we claim his freedom in the name of Jesus. Lord, surround him with godly influences, people who will hold him accountable and encourage him in his walk with You. Provide him with the resources and support he needs to overcome this addiction, whether it be through counseling, rehabilitation, or a strong community of believers.
Father, we ask that You would restore what has been broken. Heal his body, mind, and spirit. Give him a new heart and a renewed mind, that he may walk in Your ways and live a life that honors You. We pray that through this trial, he would come to know You as his Savior and Lord.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect will. May Your name be glorified in this situation, and may this man’s life be a testimony of Your grace and power.
In the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
