Prayer for return to the faith

Hello everyone! I hope you are all good in Christ❤️❤️ i wanted to ask prayers so I can return to the faith and for my faith to be strong again and to be hungry for the Lord and obedient again and have the fear of the Lord❤️🙏 I will appreciate it very much.

We are so encouraged by your honest and humble desire to return to the faith and we thank you for sharing this request with us so we can seek the Lord together with you in Jesus' name. That hunger in your heart to be close to Him again, to be obedient and to have the fear of the Lord is itself evidence that God is drawing you and working in you, for it is God who works in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure as Philippians 2:13 tells us.

We want to assure you that the Lord delights in your return. He does not cast away a repentant heart. As James 4:8 promises, Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. And 1 John 1:9 reminds us, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. There is no distance so far that His grace cannot reach you when you turn back to Him with a sincere heart.

We understand seasons where faith feels weak and cold, and scripture speaks directly to this. In Revelation 2:4-5 Jesus says, But I have this against you, that you left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent and do the first works. Returning means remembering, repenting, and again doing those first things, prayer, hearing His Word, fellowship with other believers, and obedience from love. Romans 10:17 teaches us, So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. Your faith will be strengthened again as you daily feed on the Word of God, even when you do not feel like it.

Your desire to hunger for the Lord and to walk in obedience and in the fear of the Lord is beautiful and biblical. Matthew 5:6 says, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. God will fill that hunger as you seek Him. And Proverbs 9:10 tells us, The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. That holy reverence keeps us close to Him and away from sin, and Jesus said in John 14:15, If you love me, keep my commandments. Obedience is not to earn His love, but it is the loving response to the love He has already shown us on the cross. Hebrews 11:6 also encourages us, Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him. He will reward your seeking.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up this dear one to You. We thank You for the work You have already begun in this heart that longs to return. Lord, we ask You to create in them a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within them as Psalm 51:10 prays. Pour out Your Holy Spirit afresh, restore to them the joy of Your salvation, and kindle again a burning hunger and thirst for You and for righteousness. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to hear Your Word with fresh ears and to trust Your promises. Teach them the beautiful fear of Yahweh, that reverent awe that leads to wisdom and to obedience. Give them grace to repent where needed, to turn from anything that has drawn them away, and to walk in obedience out of love for You. Draw them near, Father, as they draw near to You, and let them know deeply that they are forgiven, cleansed, and welcomed home as Your beloved child. Lead them to fellowship with strong believers who will encourage them in the faith and to daily time in Your Word and prayer. We ask that You will make their faith strong again, rooted and built up in Christ, and that they will live a life that honors You. We ask all this in the name of Jesus our Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek Him daily, even in small steps. Open the Bible each day, begin in the Gospel of John or in Psalms, pray honestly as you have prayed here, and find a faithful Bible believing church where you can be encouraged and held accountable. God is faithful, and He who began a good work in you will perfect it. Keep seeking, keep knocking, and He will be found by you.

We are so glad you reached out and shared this so honestly. That hunger you describe, to want to be close to the Lord again, to obey Him and walk in reverence for Him, is itself a sign God is already at work in you, and we are grateful to pray with you for more.

We know it can feel discouraging when faith feels weak or distant, as if you should be able to get it all back at once. One thing that has helped many of us is to think of returning not as trying harder for a moment, but as training gently over time, like preparing for a long walk. Small, regular steps matter more than big, occasional efforts. God forms us gradually as we keep showing up.

A simple place to begin could be setting aside a brief, consistent time each day, even ten minutes, in the same spot if you can, to pray honestly and read a little Scripture slowly, not to check a box but to be with Him. If you have someone you trust in your church or fellowship, letting them know you want to return and asking them to walk beside you once a week can also make that training steadier.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. Draw them close again, rekindle hunger for You, give strength to obey out of love and a heart that reveres You. Keep them as they seek You day by day and remind them You are near. Amen.

We have heard your request with great thankfulness to God, for it is a blessed sign of the work of grace in the heart when a soul begins again to consider God and to hunger after Him. The careless and indifferent forget God, but you are not content to remain at a distance, and that very longing is itself the moving of His Spirit within you.

You ask to return to the faith and to be strong again, to be hungry for the Lord and obedient and to have the fear of the Lord. Take distinct note that at the back of everything must be faith in God. Faith is the eye which sees the invisible, and without faith there is no capacity for communion with God at all. The Lord teach us to have faith seven days in the week, not as squabblers itching to prove superiority in reasoning, but as children of light bowing our whole minds to the obedience of faith.

That faith must be exercised about both the warnings and the promises of God. Perhaps you are in fear of having wandered, and you desire again the fear of the Lord. I rejoice that you have faith enough to fear. There is a holy fear which makes a soul zealous to leave nothing undone which is commanded of the Lord, and it is to be distinguished from slavish fear which has torment. The question of fear is, Will He plead against me with His great power, and the answer of faith is, No, but He will put strength in me. By the way of that faith which brings you unto fear, you will be brought out of it, for the Lord Himself will put strength in you to return.

And that return must be at once. The prophet cries, Come, and let us return unto the Lord, for He hath torn and He will heal us. Do not put Him off with promises to be redeemed tomorrow. As Abraham when he was called obeyed at once, though he knew not whither he went, so may God grant you grace to obey the call now, upon your seat, before you rise. To go back to Him is not to give the lie to His word, but to prove it true, for He is gracious and will not leave the desolate to mourn, and He is a Rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

Then will come the obedience you long for, but mark that we preach the obedience of a child, not the obedience of a slave, the obedience of love, not of terror, the obedience of faith, not of dread. There is a free grace road to obedience and that is receiving by faith the Lord Jesus who is made of God unto us sanctification. We accept the Lord Jesus by faith and He teaches us obedience and creates it in us. The more of faith in Him you have, the more of obedience to Him will you manifest, for obedience is faith in action, faith walking with God. Whenever you fail, do not sit down and question the goodness of God, that is not the way to increase the stream of obedience, but to diminish the source of it. Look to Christ who made you whole, and let that be your complete justification for doing whatsoever He saith unto you.

We will pray for you as you have asked.

O God of our fathers, Abraham and Isaac, the Lord who said Return unto your country and I will deal well with you, look upon this hungering soul. Increase faith, for without faith it is impossible to please Thee. Give a tender conscience and a holy fear, a hunger and thirst after righteousness, and a prompt and cheerful obedience. Forgive all wanderings through the blood of Jesus Christ Thy Son, and put strength in this seeking one according to Thy promise. Cause this wanderer to hear again the voices out of glory crying Return, return, and to come to the cross as at the first saying, I the chief of sinners am, but Jesus died for me. Restore the joy of salvation and make this life to reflect Thy glory, for Jesus sake. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your desire to return to the Lord and to hunger for Him again is itself evidence that His grace is already at work in you, drawing you back. We thank God for this longing and we will pray for you.

Know that your return does not depend on your own merit but on the mercies of God, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort. He receives those who turn to Him through Jesus Christ alone, and by grace you are saved through faith, and this not of yourselves. It is His goodness that leads you to repentance, and it is His grace that will sustain you.

Do not delay when you hear His call. The fishermen when they heard Christ did not say let us first return home or finish our work, but they forsook all and followed at once, and such is the obedience Christ seeks, that we not put off even a moment what He commands. So today, turn to Him in prayer, open His word, and walk in obedience in the small things before you. As Noah being warned of God of things not yet seen moved with fear and prepared the ark when there were no signs of change, so let a holy fear of the Lord guard your heart and move you to prepare your life in obedience.

At the same time remember that His blessings do not remain with us if we grow listless. The apostle warns that we must continue in the faith, otherwise we also will be cut off. Therefore tremble at His goodness, remain in Him, and seek Him daily so that your faith may be made strong again.

We pray for you now, that God would grant you a renewed hunger for Himself, a steadfast faith, a willing obedience that is pleasing to the Lord, and a true fear of the Lord that keeps you from sin. May He restore to you the joy of salvation, strengthen you by His Spirit, and keep you abiding in Christ until the end. Amen.
