Prayer for restoration to life

We are praying with you for your in law in this very serious time of high blood pressure and coma, and we join you in asking the Lord for mercy and for restoration to life if it is His will.

We bring this need before God through Jesus Christ alone, for He ever lives to make intercession for us and He is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God by Him. He is the one who raises the dead as He wills and gives life, and He has all power and judgment in His hands. As the prophets proclaimed, He came to preach deliverance to captives and to lead captivity captive, and He is mighty in battle over sin and death and every affliction.

We pray that the Lord would lay His healing hand upon your in law, that He would stabilize blood pressure, restore consciousness and strength, and guide the hands and minds of the doctors and nurses who are providing care. We pray also for you and your family, that God would give you peace that passes understanding, steady faith, and comfort in these anxious hours, and that you would not grow dull or weary in prayer but would continue to cast your cares upon Him who cares for you.

Even when we come to what feels like the very gates of death, nothing is beyond His power to renew and restore. We trust His wisdom and His love, knowing that whether He brings healing in this life or calls us home, His grace is sufficient and His purposes are good.

May the Lord hear your cry, grant mercy to your in law, and sustain you all with hope in Christ. We will continue to pray with you.

We are joining you in prayer for your in law and for your whole family in this very difficult and heavy time. To hear that someone you love has suffered such high blood pressure and has gone into a coma brings a deep sense of helplessness, and we want to stand with you to bring this need before the Lord.

Scripture shows us that prayer for the sick was a normal part of the life of Jesus and of the early church. People were brought to Jesus for healing, and later they were brought to the apostles, and the church was taught to pray for one another. One passage says the heartfelt and earnest prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much, and Jesus said that when two or three agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done by the Father. We are agreeing with you now, asking God to meet you in this need.

Your Father already knows what you need before you ask, so prayer is not trying to inform Him. He invites you to come to Him as Father through Jesus Christ. That relationship is what opens the door to real prayer. If anyone has not yet come to Him, the first prayer He desires is, God be merciful to me, a sinner, trusting in Jesus alone for salvation. As His child you can come freely, and He desires to become to you whatever your need requires. When you pray for healing, He reveals Himself as the Lord who heals.

We also learn that the purpose of prayer is not to force our will to be done, but to seek for God's will to be done on earth. Prayer begins with God and His purposes, which He puts on our hearts so we can express them back to Him. That is why the wisest and most settled prayer we can pray, even while we ask boldly for healing and for restoration to life, is, Lord, work out Your perfect will in this situation. Have Your way.

We see this tension in Scripture. When Hezekiah was sick to the point of death, he prayed and the Lord heard him and extended his life, which shows that prayer does change things and God does answer. Yet we also see that the apostle Paul prayed three times for a affliction to be removed and the Lord answered, My grace is sufficient for you, My strength is made perfect in weakness. There are healings we do not fully understand. Some are immediate, some are gradual, as when Jesus touched a blind man and his sight returned in stages, and some remain in God's sovereign wisdom not to heal in the way we ask. Any healing is from the Lord, and we trust His goodness even when the answer is not what we hoped. God is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think, and nothing is too difficult for Him.

So we pray with you now in that spirit, asking with fervency and from the heart, yet submitting all to His perfect will.

Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this loved one who is in a coma after very high blood pressure. You know his body, his mind, and every detail of his condition. We ask that You would touch him as the Lord who heals. If it is Your will, we ask for restoration to life, for awakening, for healing of the damage that has been done, and for wisdom for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We pray that You would be merciful and show Your power and compassion. At the same time we pray, Your will be done. Give this family Your grace that is sufficient for this hour, and let Your strength be made perfect in their weakness. We pray for the inner person to be strengthened by Your Spirit, for Christ to dwell deeply in their hearts through faith, for them to know more of the height and depth and length of Your love, and to be filled with Your peace that passes understanding. Sustain them, comfort them, and carry them through each day, providing for every practical and daily need. We trust this life into Your hands, asking that You would be glorified in whatever You do.

Continue to bring this need before Him with honest, fervent prayer, holding on to the confidence that He hears, He loves, and He will do what is right and good. We are continuing to pray with you and for you.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your inlaw.

We have been lifting up your loved one before the Lord, asking for His healing touch upon the very high blood pressure and for restoration to life from the coma. We continue to pray that the Lord will lay His healing hand upon your inlaw, that blood pressure would stabilize and that He would awaken and restore strength and health according to His mercy. We are reminded that He forgives all our iniquities and heals all our diseases as written in Psalm 103:3 and that He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds in Psalm 147:3.

If your request was answered and your inlaw has been restored, has awakened or has shown improvement, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you and give glory to God.

If your inlaw remains in the coma and your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We are glad to keep standing with you and contending for complete healing and restoration.

We pray for peace and strength for you and your family during this difficult waiting period and that you would feel the comfort of the Holy Spirit as you trust in Him.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.
