We join with you in lifting up your needs before the Father, for He is the Provider of all things, and He knows the struggles you are facing. Your faith is evident as you trust in His promises, and we are encouraged to see you stepping out in belief, even as you ask the Lord to help your unbelief. This is the heart of a true child of God—clinging to Him even in the midst of uncertainty.
You have rightly declared the truth of Scripture, that our God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). We stand with you in this truth, knowing that He who feeds the birds of the air and clothes the lilies of the field will not abandon you (Matthew 6:26-30). Your request for more work is a good one, and we pray that the Lord will soften your boss’s heart, opening doors for you to receive the hours you need. Remember, it is God who gives you the power to gain wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18), and He can move in the hearts of those in authority over you (Proverbs 21:1).
We also lift up your need for transportation and housing. The Lord is not unaware of these things, and we ask Him to make a way where there seems to be no way. Just as He provided manna in the wilderness and multiplied the loaves and fishes, He can multiply your resources and open doors for you to receive the help you need. Your application for SNAP assistance is a practical step, and we pray that the Lord will expedite this process so that you may have food to sustain you.
Yet, as we pray for these temporal needs, we also encourage you to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added to you (Matthew 6:33). In times of lack, it is easy to become consumed with worry, but the Lord calls us to cast all our anxieties on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). You have asked Him to take away the spirit of fear, and we declare that He is faithful to do so, filling you instead with His love, power, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
We also notice that you have invoked the name of Jesus in your prayer, and this is good and right. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). Your prayer closes with the precious name of Jesus, and we affirm that it is in His name alone that we come boldly before the throne of grace.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, knowing that You are the God who sees and the God who provides. You are Jehovah Jireh, the Lord our Provider, and we ask You to meet every need according to Your glorious riches in Christ Jesus. Lord, You know the struggle of finding work, the stress of paying for shelter, and the hunger that gnaws at the body. We ask You to open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing so abundant that there will not be room enough to receive it (Malachi 3:10).
Father, we pray for favor with this boss. Soften her heart, Lord, and let her see the value and diligence of Your child. Provide not just three days of work, but five—even more if it is Your will. Give wisdom in managing the little that is there, and multiply it as only You can. We ask for Your divine intervention in the housing situation. Open doors that no man can shut, and provide a place of safety and rest. Let the food pantry be a source of blessing, and let the bus fare be provided so that work can be reached without hindrance.
We also pray for peace that surpasses understanding to guard the heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Remove all fear, all doubt, and fill this precious one with the assurance that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). Forgive any sins, known or unknown, and cleanse by the blood of Jesus. Strengthen faith, Lord, and let every trial be a testament to Your faithfulness.
Lord, we ask that You would remind our brother/sister that man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from Your mouth (Matthew 4:4). Sustain them spiritually even as You provide physically. Let this season of need draw them closer to You, deepening their trust and dependence on Your goodness.
We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You, Lord, are their shield and exceedingly great reward (Genesis 15:1). May Your name be glorified in this situation, and may Your child come forth as gold, refined by the fire of trial, shining brightly for Your kingdom.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
