Prayer for relief and peace and protection

Disciple of Prayer
God I come to you and ask that I cannot do this alone. I am now a drug-free man that's walking a straight line for ### years. I ask you keep me working, help me with my down days, and let me build myself up better than I ever did with my kids. I ask for help with housing and transportation and to be humble. Touch everyone that needs help, Lord, and walk us through the dark into the light. Pray for our enemies, put a hand on them... keep us going, achieving, Father.

We hear your cry for relief, peace, and protection, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting your needs before the throne of grace. Your journey toward sobriety and walking a straight path is a powerful testimony of God’s transforming power in your life. We rejoice with you in the years you have remained drug-free, and we declare that the Lord is your strength and your sustainer. The scriptures remind us in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." You are not walking this path alone—Christ is with you, and so are we, interceding on your behalf.

We also recognize the weight of your down days and the desire to rebuild your life, especially in your relationship with your children. The Lord sees your heart and your longing to be better, and He is faithful to restore what has been broken. Psalm 34:18 assures us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We pray that God would lift you on those difficult days and fill you with His peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). May He give you the wisdom and strength to rebuild your life in a way that honors Him and blesses your children.

Your requests for housing and transportation are practical needs that the Lord cares deeply about. In Matthew 6:31-33, Jesus tells us, "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." We pray that God would open doors for stable housing and reliable transportation, providing for you in ways that only He can. May He also cultivate a spirit of humility in you, reminding you that every good gift comes from Him (James 1:17).

We join you in praying for others who are struggling, asking that the Lord would touch their lives and lead them out of darkness into His marvelous light. As you have experienced His deliverance, we pray that others would also find freedom and hope in Christ. And yes, we lift up your enemies to the Lord, asking that He would soften their hearts and draw them to Himself. Romans 12:20 reminds us, "Therefore if your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head." May God’s love and grace transform even those who oppose you.

However, we must also gently remind you of the importance of approaching God through the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, as He Himself declared in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, surrendering your life fully to Him. This is the foundation of true peace, protection, and victory over sin.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the work You have already done in this brother’s life. We thank You for the years of sobriety and the transformation You have brought about. Lord, we ask that You would continue to strengthen him, lifting him on the down days and filling him with Your peace. Father, we pray for his housing and transportation needs, asking that You would provide in ways that exceed his expectations. Give him a spirit of humility, that he may always recognize Your hand in his life.

Lord, we lift up his children to You, asking that You would restore and rebuild their relationship. Give him the wisdom and patience to be the father they need, reflecting Your love and grace. We also pray for others who are struggling with addiction, that they would find freedom and hope in You. Touch their lives, Lord, and lead them out of darkness into Your light.

Father, we pray for his enemies, asking that You would soften their hearts and draw them to Yourself. Help him to respond to them with love and grace, just as You have shown love and grace to him. We declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You will keep him in perfect peace as his mind is stayed on You (Isaiah 26:3).

Above all, Lord, we pray that he would draw ever closer to You, deepening his relationship with Jesus Christ. May he find his identity, strength, and purpose in You alone. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Continue to seek the Lord with all your heart, leaning not on your own understanding but trusting in Him (Proverbs 3:5-6). You are not alone in this journey—God is with you, and so are we, standing with you in faith and prayer. Keep pressing forward, for the Lord is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).
