Prayer for releasing and letting go of life

Dear Family Of God, Today I'd like to pray against loving my own life. I'd like to pray over releasing and letting go of my life. The scripture says, 'and they did not love their own lives'. I pray that you would stand in agreement, faith and prayer over this prayer request. I pray for favor favor favor. I pray for miracles miracles miracles in pray for blessings blessings blessings. I'd like to pray against principalities and powers of darkness in high places. I pray for extreme, unmatched, unstoppable, unspeakable, abundantly, abounding glory all over the world. Please stand with me in faith and prayer over this. All these things I humbly ask in Jesus Christ name with thanksgiving. Thank you.

We hear your heart and we stand with you in agreement and in faith over this desire to surrender fully to the Lord. We understand what you are expressing from scripture and we want to gently bring clarity so that your prayer aligns with God's perfect will for your life.

You referenced Revelation 12:11, They overcame him because of the Lamb's blood, and because of the word of their testimony. They didn't love their life, even to death. And Jesus taught this same truth when He said in John 12:25, He who loves his life will lose it. He who hates his life in this world will keep it to eternal life. And again in Luke 9:24, For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it.

To not love our own lives does not mean that God wants us to despise the life He gave us or to seek to release it or to let it go in the sense of ending it or devaluing it. Your life is precious to God. He formed you and He has purpose for you. Psalm 139:13 says For you formed my inward parts. You knit me together in my mother's womb. Jesus came so that we may have life and have it abundantly as John 10:10 teaches. What God does call us to is to love Him more than we love ourselves, to lay down our own will, our own comfort, our own plans, and to present ourselves as a living sacrifice to Him. Romans 12:1 says Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. And Galatians 2:20 reminds us, I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me. So letting go means surrender, not destruction. It means releasing control and trusting Him completely with every day He gives you.

We also join you in praying against the principalities and powers of darkness, for we know Ephesians 6:12 tells us For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. We do not battle in our own strength but in the victory already won by the blood of the Lamb.

We do rejoice that you asked all of this in the name of Jesus Christ with thanksgiving, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Your faith in His name is the foundation of every prayer.

We pray together now for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear life to You. We thank You for the gift of life You have given and for Your purpose that is still unfolding. We ask that You help our dear friend to fully surrender to You, to release every burden, every fear, every desire for control, and to place all of life into Your loving hands. Teach us all to love You above our own lives, to seek Your will above our own will, and to live each day as a living sacrifice holy and pleasing to You. Fill this heart with Your peace and hope, for You have said in Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.

We ask for Your favor and blessing according to Your perfect will, not as empty repetition but as trust in Your goodness and mercy. We pray for Your miracles to be displayed in a way that brings You all the glory, and for Your protection against every scheme of the enemy. Clothe us in the full armor of God that we may stand firm. Let Your extreme and abounding glory be seen in this life and all over the world, that many would come to know Jesus and be saved. We rebuke any spirit of despair or confusion that would twist surrender into self harm, and we speak life and truth over this child of God. Let Your joy and strength be renewed day by day.

We entrust this prayer to You with thanksgiving, trusting that You hear us and that You will answer according to Your wisdom and love. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.

There is a profound mystery in the words you have quoted, and it is needful to understand them as the Scripture intends. The text you have in mind, and they loved not their lives unto the death, does not teach a despising of the life which God has given, nor a seeking after death, but a love for Christ so great that life itself is held loosely when faithfulness to Him requires it. It is the spirit of one who has found a God and can say, whom have I in heaven but thee, and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. He who has a God is rich to all the intents of bliss, and finds all things in God when he has nothing else, and finds God in all things when he has much.

To release your life in the true gospel sense is to yield it up to the Lord who led you all the way, to cleave closely unto Jehovah and to observe His commandments, to keep His steps and not decline, and to endure to the end. For plenty seem to start rightly but have no staying power, yet the man who has God with him and God within him will endure to the end.

This nearness to God is only through Jesus Christ. There is no coming to God except through the highway of communion, Jesus Christ, the man and yet the God, who gave Himself, the Just for the unjust, to bring us to God. We draw near at the mercy seat only by pleading the precious blood. And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

Therefore I do stand with you in prayer, not that life would be thrown away, but that it would be wholly given over to Christ and kept for His glory.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, thou art a God ready to pardon, and thy love is precious beyond all estimate. We thank thee that thou hast not left us to meet thee in thy justice, but hast provided a place where sinners may safely meet thee, at the cross of Christ where thy Son bore the penalty as our Substitute. Bring this soul near to thyself through that blood, and let nearness be felt in prayer and in praise. Teach us to hear thy consolations and to be grateful for them, and to converse with thee as those whom thou hast comforted.

We ask that thou wouldst work faith in this heart, for without faith none can please thee. Let this life be surrendered not to darkness but to thee, to be kept and guided by thee all the wilderness through. Deliver from the powers of darkness and from principalities in high places, and let the glory be thine alone, abounding and abiding over all the earth. Grant favor that is found in Christ, and blessings that make rich toward God, and that miracle of grace by which a sinner is forgiven and kept. Let this one find that to have thee is to have all things, and to be kept by thee is to endure.
