Prayer for receiving money given to my brother's friend

Srilaxmi

Humble Servant
Please pray for us to get back our money given to my brother's friend in 2024. We gave ### for the purchase of gold. They returned ### in 2025 and balance amount is pending. My brother's friend cheated many people and left the house. His parents promised to pay the balance amount after selling their land. Since 1 yr they are postponing to repay the balance amount. One of their relative said that they received the amount on selling their lands in village. But still they are not repaying us. Please pray for us to get back the balance amount as early as possible. In Jesus Mighty Name I Pray. Amen.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation of financial injustice and broken trust. The Word of God tells us in Proverbs 13:11, "Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by hand makes it grow." It is clear that what was done here was not just a financial transaction gone wrong, but a violation of trust and integrity. We stand on God’s promise in Psalm 37:21, "The wicked borrow and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously," and we declare that this debt must be repaid according to God’s justice.

Father, we ask You to move mightily in this situation. You see the deceit and the delay, and You are a God who executes justice for the oppressed (Psalm 103:6). We pray that You would soften the hearts of this family, that they would recognize the weight of their obligation and the sin of withholding what is rightfully owed. Convict them by Your Holy Spirit to fulfill their promise and repay the balance without further delay. We rebuke the spirit of deception and greed that has taken hold, and we command it to flee in the name of Jesus.

Lord, we also ask for wisdom and discernment for our brothers and sisters in this matter. Proverbs 22:26-27 warns, "Don’t you be one of those who strike hands, of those who are collateral for debts. If you don’t have means to pay, why should he take away your bed from under you?" We pray that they would seek godly counsel and take any necessary steps to recover what is theirs, whether through legal means or continued prayerful persistence. Give them patience and faith to trust in Your timing, knowing that You are their Provider (Philippians 4:19).

We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that every plan of the enemy to keep this money hidden or withheld will be exposed and overturned. May this situation be resolved in a way that brings glory to Your name and restores what was lost. We stand on Your Word in Luke 6:38, "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be given to you. For with the same measure you measure it will be measured back to you." Let this principle of sowing and reaping work in their favor, Lord.

Finally, we pray that this trial would draw them closer to You. May they find their security not in money or earthly possessions, but in You alone. Teach them to trust in Your provision and to walk in integrity, even when others do not. We thank You for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to act on behalf of Your children. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We’re sorry for the weight of this, waiting through months of promises while knowing the land was sold, yet still not seeing what was owed. That slow drip of frustration and feeling taken advantage of can wear anyone down, especially when trust was broken so casually by someone your brother considered a friend.

We’ve been holding this with you, and we want to simply encourage you: your persistence in prayer is not wasted. God sees the hidden corners of every transaction and every heart, even when people stall. In times like this, patience isn't passive, it’s actively choosing not to let the anger lodge deep and sour your own spirit. That doesn't mean pretending the debt doesn't matter; it means guarding your own peace while you keep seeking resolution.

On the practical side, it might help to gather whatever written messages, bank records, or notes you have, and prayerfully consider a calm, face-to-face conversation with the parents, perhaps with a trusted elder or family friend present who can help keep things respectful. Sometimes a gentle but direct appeal, without accusation, still moves a stalled situation. If they continue to evade, seeking neutral mediation from someone respected in your community or a Christian financial counselor might be a wise next step, not to threaten but to steady the process.

We lift this with you now.

Jesus, you know the full story and the real need behind this pending money. We ask you to press upon the hearts of the parents to act justly and honor their word. In the waiting, wrap our friend in your steady peace, the kind that doesn’t depend on a bank balance. Guard them from resentment and provide for every true lack until this is made right. We trust you to be their help and their advocate. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

How quickly the joy of a promised gain can turn to grief when trust is misplaced in the arm of flesh. The broken column of this man's honesty has fallen, and the thorns and nettles of deceit have sprung up where you looked for fruit. Yet you have not lost all, for you have come to the true refuge, the living God. It is a mercy when our broken cisterns drive us to the fountain. You cry for the balance of money, but the deeper cry of your heart must be for grace to trust the Lord in this dark providence. To trust in the living God in temporal matters is not to be idle or rash, but to act with prudence and then to roll the whole burden upon Him. He who commanded the light to shine out of darkness can bring order out of this confusion.

Do not let this trial become a broken bone of your spirit, weakening your faith and making you walk with a limp of bitterness. Many a healed bone leaves a remembrance of weakness, and a sharp loss can leave a soul peevish and distrustful ever after. Strive against this. If you substitute anxious scheming for simple reliance upon Christ, you will only read your own condemnation in the delays. But if you trust Jesus in the dark, you shall one day enter into light. Meditate much upon the promises, promises of provision, of protection from slander, of God’s overruling hand. The Lord breaks the arrows of the enemy, and the sharp arrows of fraud and broken pledges shall not ultimately harm your true treasure, which is in heaven.

Above all, beware of repairing the broken fence with the untempered mortar of sinful means. It would be a sad exchange to gain a little gold and lose your peace with God. You ask for prayer, and we shall pray, but it is well also to travail in your own closet, pleading the blood of the covenant. The true place of victory is not in the strife of courts or the heat of demand, but on your knees. Cast this burden on the Lord, and wait upon Him. He who binds up the broken-hearted can also untangle this snarl and restore what the caterpillar has eaten. Let your expectation be from Him, and not from the shifting promises of those who have dealt falsely. The living God sees, and in His time the matter shall be made plain. Happy is he who trusts in the Lord.

The money you long for has become a thick cloud upon the eye of your soul. You fix your gaze on an earthly debt and forget the ten thousand talents you owe to God. Hasten then to remit this grievance, not demanding what is past due as though it were your right, for the easy repayment of our own vast debt is simply this: not to be revengeful. If you bear this loss thankfully, you shall recover even these things; and if they are never repaid, your reward will be greater. When Job wrestled nobly, showing the devil that he served God not for possessions, then God restored all to him. So now, learn to give thanks for whatever comes, knowing that a favor is not a debt demanded but a gift received. What you contribute to God in patient trust goes up as a loan that yields rich interest in heaven; there it remains for you with great profit. But here the love of money has collected like an evil humor blinding your sight. Let the grace by which you have become a son and friend of God teach you that these things are small indeed compared to the unspeakable lovingkindness you have already received.

The weight of what you are carrying is real. When someone breaks trust like this, especially with money that represents your hard work and hope, it stirs up a deep ache. The waiting, the broken promises, the sense of being cheated, all of that can easily make your heart bitter and your mind restless. It is not wrong to desire what is rightfully yours or to ask God to intervene. But in the middle of that longing, take care that the money itself does not become a snare. It is not money that causes the trouble, but the love of it. That misplaced love is what drives people to cheat, to delay, to put possessions above integrity and relationships. Do not let the wrong done to you pull your own heart into that same trap.

God sees every hidden transaction. The land that was sold, the promises that were made, the relative’s admission that funds were received, none of it escapes His notice. His justice is perfect, even when earthly justice fails. Consider how Joseph’s brothers once found their money mysteriously returned in their sacks, and the steward told them, “Your God and the God of your fathers has given you treasure in your sacks.” He did not say it was their doing or mere oversight; he pointed to a divine hand behind the provision. God can work in ways that confound the manipulator and release what is held unjustly. He is not limited by human greed or a family’s delay. He can move on your behalf in a moment.

But while you wait, let your primary focus be on the God who never cheats you. When the vertical axis of your life, your relationship with Him, is out of balance, everything else wobbles: your peace, your hope, even your prayers. Entrust yourself and this financial need to Him completely, not with a clenched fist but with an open hand. I think of that widow who faced a creditor coming for her sons. Elisha asked her, “What do you have in the house?” She had only a little oil, but God multiplied it to pay her debt and sustain her family. He often starts with what we already have, our faith, our patience, our honesty, and uses it to provide the balance we lack.

Let your prayers be less about pressuring the debtors and more about surrendering the whole mess to the Lord. Yes, ask daily for the return of what is owed, but also ask for a heart that treasures Christ above any earthly sum. Money is a curious thing: it promises power but can quickly make a slave out of the one who clings to it. Use even this trial to store up lasting treasure, not just to recover what was lost. If God should bring the balance back into your hands, receive it with thanks and purpose. If He chooses to provide for you through another route entirely, trust that He is able. Live now with a quiet confidence that your Father sees the secret things and will right every wrong in His time. Let that be your rest, and let your heart stay free from the corrosive love that devours those who deceived you.
