Prayer for protection

I am requesting prayer for protection from Santa Muerte, as I got involved in this evil cult. When I got involved I started losing everything. I lost my life fiancee and I lost my job. It was a hard learned leason. Since I have rebuked this evil entity in the name of Jesus and threw out any statues and pictures I had. I need prayers of protect in Jesus mighty name. We thank you for sharing this with us and we rejoice that you have turned away from that darkness and have rebuked it in the name of Jesus and removed those idols from your home. That is exactly what the Lord calls us to do. Santa Muerte is not a saint and is not of God, it is a demonic deception that masquerades as protection but brings death and destruction, for there shall not be found with you anyone who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. Whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh. Deuteronomy 18:10-12. You shall not bring an abomination into your house and become a devoted thing like it. You shall utterly detest it and utterly abhor it. Deuteronomy 7:26. By throwing out those statues and pictures you have obeyed the Lord and closed a door to the enemy, and we praise God for your courage.

We understand the pain of losing so much, including your fiancee and your job, and we know this has been a hard learned lesson. The enemy comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly. John 10:10. When we give place to idols we open ourselves to that stealing, yet God is merciful to forgive and to restore when we repent. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17.

We want to encourage you that you do not need to live in fear now. Greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4. Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7. Your protection is not in a statue or a ritual, but in the living Christ alone, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. We are glad you called upon the mighty name of Jesus, because it is only by that name we have access to the Father and it is that name that demons must obey.

We encourage you to stay fully separated from that cult and not to look back, to fill your home and your heart with the Word of God, with prayer and worship, and to walk closely with a Bible believing church where you can be discipled and supported. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:11-12. Read Scripture daily, pray continually, and keep no object, image, or contact connected to that past involvement.

Father in heaven, we come before You together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You for drawing our brother out of darkness into Your marvelous light. We thank You that whom the Son makes free will be free indeed. John 8:36. Lord, we ask You to forgive all involvement with this evil cult and to cleanse him completely by the blood of Jesus. We rebuke every spirit of death and deception associated with Santa Muerte and we command in the name of Jesus that it have no more power or claim over him, his home, his mind, or his future. We ask You to surround him with Your protection, for he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. We will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Psalm 91:1-2. Let Your angels encamp around him. Psalm 34:7. Fill his house with Your peace and Your Holy Spirit, and let no fear remain, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self control. 2 Timothy 1:7. Restore, Lord, what the locusts have eaten, bring new opportunities for work, bring healing to his heart over the loss of his fiancee, and lead him in Your perfect will for a godly future. Keep him steadfast, rooted in Your Word, and make him a testimony of Your deliverance to others. We pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and protector, amen.

We were so glad you wrote, and we hear the weight you are carrying. Losing your fiancee and your job while feeling tangled up in something dark is a lot to bear, and it took real courage to turn away, to renounce that involvement in Jesus' name and to clear those statues and images out of your home. That was an important step.

It makes sense you would still feel vulnerable and want prayer for protection. We believe that fear is understandable after what you have been through, and we also believe Jesus is stronger than any evil and that as you stay close to Him you are not facing this alone.

A couple of steady next steps have helped many others who have walked away from occult involvement. Stay closely connected to a trusted pastor or mature believers who can pray with you in person, not just once but regularly. Keep your home and rhythms filled with what builds you up in Christ, simple daily prayer, reading the Bible, worship, and fellowship, and make a clean break from any contacts or media that would pull you back. If fear spikes at night or you feel harassed, call a trusted believer to pray with you rather than sitting alone with it.

We have heard your cry and we thank God that you have turned from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God. To rebuke that evil and to cast out the statues and pictures is to turn away from an idol of what service can it be to you, and to flee to Christ who alone is mighty to save. There is great hope in your confession, for the Lord is gracious and says, Deliver him from going down to the Pit, I have found a ransom.

Know this, that deliverance from the power of darkness is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and it is not of him that wills nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. No one would have thought of such a way of deliverance from the pit through a ransom if God had not thought of it, but He has invented it and He has found it in the gift of His own Son. The prisoner ready to be executed goes free, not because of his own strength, but because the King's own Son has borne the penalty of all his iniquities. In Christ you have that ransom, and if you are in Him you are delivered from sin, from the devil, and from all the attacks of your old sins.

Your losses are grievous, and we do not make light of them. Yet hear the word of the psalmist, The Lord has chastened me sorely. Troubles do not spring out of the dust, but the Lord Himself kindles the furnace and sits as a Refiner at the door. What you have suffered may be the loving chastening of a Father's hand to bring you out of Egypt and to keep back your soul from the pit. Let this make you moderate your anger against second causes and look to the Lord who alone can bring you forth and declare His works in your life.

We join you now in prayer for your protection, for deliverance is of the Lord and He will keep those who trust in Him.

Our Father in heaven, we thank You that You have found a ransom in Jesus Christ Your Son. We praise You that this soul has renounced the works of darkness and has called upon the name of Jesus. In the mighty name of Jesus we ask You to deliver him from going down to the pit and to keep his soul from perishing. Cover him with the blood of Christ, set Your angels about him, and let no evil have dominion over him. Deliver him fully from the power of darkness and translate him into the kingdom of Your dear Son. Guard his heart and mind, cleanse his dwelling of every remnant of idolatry, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit, with light and peace. Lead him to walk in Your Word, to abide in prayer, to put on the whole armor of God, and to fellowship with Your people who will help him stand. Restore to him what has been broken according to Your wisdom and mercy, give him honest work and daily bread, and make his life to declare the works of the Lord. We ask this not by any power of our own, but by the supernatural power of Christ alone, in whose name we pray. Amen.

Abide in Christ. Keep yourself from idols, give yourself to the Scriptures, to prayer, and to the company of faithful believers who preach Christ crucified. If you have escaped from the jaw of the lion, go forward trusting not in your own strength but in Him who has delivered you, for He who has begun this good work will keep you until the day of Jesus Christ.
