We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this marriage under spiritual attack. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy through fear, sleeplessness, and tormenting dreams, but we declare that Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We rebuke every spirit of fear, depression, and insomnia in Jesus' mighty name. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We break every assignment of the enemy against this marriage and command every evil influence to flee. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4).
Heavenly Father, we ask You to surround this couple with Your holy angels. Let Your presence bring deep, restorative sleep and sweet dreams filled with Your peace. Strengthen their bodies, minds, and spirits with Your healing power. Remove every person from their lives who does not align with Your will, and fill their home with Your light and love. We pray for complete deliverance and freedom in every area where the enemy has gained a foothold.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment to recognize the enemy's tactics. Help them to stand firm in faith, putting on the full armor of God so they may withstand in the evil day (Ephesians 6:13). May they find comfort in Your Word, which is a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105). We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
We encourage you both to draw near to God, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). Spend time in prayer and Scripture together, for where two or three are gathered in Jesus' name, He is there in the midst of them (Matthew 18:20). Let your marriage be a testimony of God's faithfulness and love, a beacon of light in a dark world.

If the sleeplessness persists, please don’t hesitate to see a doctor; physical exhaustion can deepen depression, and there may be something physical going on that needs attention.

The battle you describe is a familiar one to the pilgrim on the narrow way. These fearful dreams and this thieving insomnia are the archers shooting in the dark, seeking to wound your faith and rob your household of peace. But you must recall that Egypt's darkness never touched the dwellings of God's people. Deliverance from the power of darkness is as much the work of God as deliverance from guilt. The enemy would have you believe the Lord has forsaken you, that His ear is shut. That arrow is shot often, but it is a lie. Where do you run when such shadows fall? Do you go rambling round the world for comfort, or do you stay at home in the closet with your God? If you are at the mercy-seat, God is there too, and fear must vanish. Get to the blood of Jesus; it whispers peace within. Peace, perfect peace, is a present possession for those whose mind is stayed on Him because they trust in Him.
He says to you this day, "Fear not, thou worm; I will help thee." Will you doubt the arm that piled the heavens? This fear dishonors God and weakens you. The Lamb has been slain; the ransom is found. Your husband’s dreams and your sleeplessness are not beyond the reach of Him who has vanquished death and all its powers. In Jesus’ keeping you are safe. The clock of mercy struck at Calvary, and the hour of your deliverance was decreed. Do not fold your arms in despair; you are accepted in the Beloved, justified by faith, with peace toward God. As for the people you wish removed from your life, leave that with Him. He is able to deliver you from the noise of archers and from the discord they bring. Be not disturbed; your life is hidden with Christ. If He has brought you out of the pit, He will certainly help in daily troubles. Rise from this despondency, and when the Lord’s face shines in, do not hold your peace, declare His works and offer adoration. The enemy assaults you with dreams and fears, seeking to rob your soul of the peace that is your inheritance in Christ. But remember the apostle’s word: the Lord delivered him from the lion’s mouth and will deliver you from every evil work. These nightly terrors are like the vain phantoms of a dream, when the day dawns, their power is gone. Do not let your heart cling to them or make provision for the flesh by feeding your anxiety. Care for your body with proper sleep and health, but do not kindle the flame of fear by dwelling on what the evil one whispers in the darkness.
The true peace you seek is not the absence of trouble, for robbers may agree together in a false calm. It is the peace of a cleansed soul, where the diseased and mutinous parts are cut off. When you are at war with the devil, you are at peace with God. So let no depression or dread shake you; instead, put on the gospel of peace like shoes for your feet. A virtuous life, righteousness, and joy in the Holy Spirit, these things bring the kingdom near, not your outward circumstances.
As for those you wish to go away, sometimes the removal of those who cause division brings a good discord that ends an evil peace. But entrust even this to the God of peace, who will shortly bruise Satan under your feet. The victory is already won; stand firm and do not yield to sin by giving way to despair. What you are facing is real, but remember that God is your refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. The enemy seeks to torment through fear and unrest, but the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the sum of true knowledge, and to fear Him is to hate evil. When your mind is fixed on Him, He keeps you in perfect peace, not because the storm disappears, but because you trust in the One who commands it.
The dreams and insomnia are attacks meant to steal that peace, but you do not need to be afraid of sudden terror or the darkness that tries to settle over your home. The Lord will be your confidence and will guard your steps. He has ordained peace for you, and His thoughts toward you are for peace, not for evil, to give you an expected end. Even in what feels like a wilderness, He leads you there to show you His power to deliver when no way seems possible.
Cry out to Him together. The peace Jesus gives is not the world’s peace, it goes deep, stilling the inner war and covering the mind and spirit with calm that often unsettles those who don’t know Him. As your soul prospers in Him, so often does physical well-being follow, because reverence for God and turning from evil is health to your body and strength to your bones. Ask Him for the courage to stand, and He will answer: “Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you.” His perfect love casts out the phobia-like fear that cripples.
Do not let bitterness take root regarding the people who bring trouble. Seek the peace that comes from above, it is gentle, reasonable, and sows in peace to reap a harvest of righteousness. Pray for them, and trust God to defend you. The presence that brought deliverance to His people in impossible straits is still the same. He can remove what needs to be removed and shield you in the meantime.
Right now, speak peace over your household in Jesus’ name. Declare that you choose the fear of the Lord, hating the evil that attacks your rest, and set your gaze firmly on Him.
