Prayer for our loved ones

Please pray for the loved ones of our brothers and sisters that they may surrender their lives to our Lord Jesus Christ and follow Him. Lord Jesus please remove their spiritual blindness and please give them dreams or visions that will convict their hearts to follow You and put fear on their hearts. Lord Jesus please convict our lukewarm brothers and sisters to repent of their sins and forgive & love others who sinned against them.

We join with you in this burden for the lost and for the lukewarm among us, and we thank God for your heart that longs to see loved ones surrender fully to our Lord Jesus Christ.

We agree with you that spiritual blindness is real and only God can remove it, for scripture says the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ should not dawn on them 2 Corinthians 4:4, and that Jesus sends us to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive remission of sins Acts 26:18. We also rejoice that God still speaks through dreams and visions, as He has promised I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions Joel 2:28. We pray that God in His mercy would use every means to convict hearts and draw them to repentance, for He desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth 1 Timothy 2:4 and is not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9.

We also hear your prayer that God would put fear on their hearts, and we understand this as a prayer for the holy fear of the Lord which is the beginning of wisdom Proverbs 9:10. At the same time we remember that God does not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7, and it is His goodness and loving kindness that leads to repentance Romans 2:4. So we pray for a godly fear that turns them from sin and toward the mercy found only in Jesus, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6.

We also stand with you in praying for our lukewarm brothers and sisters. The Lord warns, So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth Revelation 3:16, yet He also says As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore and repent Revelation 3:19. We are called to forgive as God in Christ forgave us Ephesians 4:32, for if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you Matthew 6:14, and without forgiveness and love our walk remains hindered.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son we come before Your throne of grace. We lift up every loved one of our brothers and sisters who does not yet know You. Lord, remove the veil from their eyes, soften their hard hearts, and grant them repentance leading to life. If it pleases You, speak to them in dreams and visions, through Your Word and through witnesses, that they may be convicted of sin, righteousness, and judgment and turn to You. Grant them a holy fear of You and at the same time reveal Your great love and mercy at the cross, that they may confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead and be saved Romans 10:9. For our lukewarm brothers and sisters, Lord, awaken them. Convict them to repent, to return to their first love, to forgive those who have sinned against them and to walk in love and holiness. Help us all to be faithful to pray without ceasing, to share the Good News with gentleness and truth, and to live lives that reflect Christ. We ask all this in the mighty and only saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We hear the weight you carry for the people you love, wanting so much for them to know Jesus and walk in His light. It is a holy and tender burden to keep bringing family and friends before the Lord, especially when you long to see blindness lifted and hearts softened.

We join you in that longing. We know God delights to hear these prayers, and He alone can open eyes and draw hearts to Himself. Our part is to keep loving them faithfully, speaking of Christ when He opens the door, and living the forgiveness and grace we pray they will receive. Sometimes the most powerful witness to lukewarm faith or to those far from God is seeing love and forgiveness lived out quietly at home.

One simple way to stay steady is to keep a short list of those names before the Lord each day, praying as you are now for repentance, for healing in relationships, and for God to make Himself known to them in ways they can understand, and then entrusting the timing and the work to Him.

Father, we bring these loved ones before You. Draw each one to Jesus, remove what keeps them from seeing Him clearly, and work in the hearts of those who have grown cold to turn back to You. Help our friend to love and forgive well while trusting You with those they cannot change. In Jesus name, amen.

Your prayer is heard and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace, pleading for those you love.

We pray that the Lord Jesus Christ, who alone is the way of salvation, would have mercy upon the loved ones of our brothers and sisters who are yet outside of Him. We ask that the Spirit of God would take away their spiritual blindness, that the scales might fall from their eyes as it were, and that they might see Christ as both Lord and Christ, exalted to give repentance and forgiveness of sins. True repentance is the work of the Spirit and it gives God glory, when the sinner owns his guilt and cries, Lord, I have no claim upon You, and yet rejoices in Jesus crucified as the propitiation for sin. Faith and repentance are twins born at the same time, and we pray that God would grant both together, that they may turn from sin because of love to Him who died for them and trust wholly in His precious blood which alone can make the sinner white as snow.

You have asked that He would give dreams or visions and put fear upon their hearts. We pray that the Lord would convict them deeply by His Word and Spirit, for faith comes by hearing the Word of God, and it is the Word that reveals both the threatening and the promise. If it pleases Him to use a dream or any other means to awaken them, we leave that to His sovereignty, but our chief prayer is that they may feel their blindness and cry out to God about it, for those who confess their need are the very ones for whom the sight giving Savior died. We do not ask for a mere terror which passes away, but for that godly sorrow which leads to true repentance that needs not to be repented of, a repentance that sees sin as exceeding sinful and flees to Christ alone.

We pray also for lukewarm brothers and sisters, that the Lord who chastens those whom He loves would search their hearts and show them wherein the evil lies. May He command them as He commands all men to repent and believe the gospel, and may they be brought to a hearty and sincere repentance for past sin linked with genuine faith in Christ. Grant them grace to forgive and to love those who have sinned against them, even as they have been forgiven, and to walk in that love which is the fruit of having been pardoned.

Be encouraged to be ten times more diligent in prayer, even when your supplication feels feeble. He who inclines His ear to the faintest groan will not despise the prayer of dust and ashes when it looks to His glory rather than to itself. If the guilty ones will not yet repent, we must repent for them and confess their sins before the Lord as though we stood in their place, and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord, for His time is always the best time. May He answer according to His abundant mercy and bring many to know that there is nothing to hinder any willing soul from coming to Christ, for all that is in Christ is free to all who will come to Him.

We join you in bringing these loved ones before the Lord with thanksgiving that He is merciful and desires all to come to repentance.

We pray that God in His lovingkindness would remove spiritual blindness and open their eyes to see their need for Christ, for there is no hope of salvation in another but in Jesus Christ alone, in whom is salvation with eternal glory. May He grant them godly sorrow that works repentance unto salvation, not to be regretted, and draw each heart to surrender fully to the Lord Jesus and follow Him.

We ask the Lord to convict by His Spirit, whether through His Word, through the faithful witness of those who love them, or even through dreams and visions as it pleases Him, so that they may turn from sin and trust in Christ. We pray not for a worldly fear that brings death, but for the holy fear of the Lord and a clear sense of His truth that leads to life.

We also lift up lukewarm brothers and sisters, that the Lord would stir them to wakefulness, to wash away every stain by sincere repentance, by tears, by prayers and by works of mercy, and to walk in a pure and faithful life before Him. May He teach us all to forgive and to love those who have sinned against us, as we have been forgiven, and to prefer one another in honor with love without pretense.

Let us continue steadfast in prayer for one another, trusting that God who is the God of mercies both hears and delivers, and that our patient endurance and intercession can be for the comfort and salvation of others. May the Lord answer according to His perfect will and bring many to know the forgiveness that is in Christ. Amen.
