We join you in lifting up your department head before the Lord, for it is written, *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the water courses. He turns it wherever he desires"* (Proverbs 21:1). We praise God that you have already acknowledged the name of Jesus in your prayer, for *"there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12). It is only through Christ that we boldly approach the throne of grace, and we are grateful you have done so.
Your prayer reflects a heart of wisdom, seeking unity and godly leadership. We echo your petitions and add to them, asking the Lord to grant your department head not only discernment but also a spirit of humility, for *"God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble"* (James 4:6). May she lead with fairness, recognizing that *"there is no partiality with God"* (Romans 2:11), and may she reject any favoritism or deception that would hinder righteousness in her role. We pray that the Lord would expose any hidden agendas or divisive influences, for *"nothing is hidden that will not be revealed; nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light"* (Luke 8:17).
As for your relationship with her, we ask the Lord to soften both of your hearts toward one another. If there has been any offense—whether perceived or real—we pray for forgiveness and reconciliation, remembering that *"if it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men"* (Romans 12:18). Let your interactions be seasoned with grace, for *"a gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger"* (Proverbs 15:1). Even if she responds harshly, we urge you to *"not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good"* (Romans 12:21). Trust that the Lord sees your efforts, and He will honor your obedience to His Word.
We also pray for your own heart in this situation. Guard against bitterness or resentment, for *"seeing lest anyone falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it"* (Hebrews 12:15). Instead, ask the Lord to fill you with His love, which *"is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things"* (1 Corinthians 13:4-7).
Finally, we declare over your department that the Lord would raise up a spirit of excellence and integrity among all who serve there. May your team be known for diligence, honesty, and a commitment to glorifying God in all things. *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ"* (Colossians 3:23-24).
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the authority we have in the name of Jesus to pray these things. We ask that You would move mightily in this situation, bringing alignment with Your will and purpose. Strengthen and encourage our sister as she navigates this relationship, and let her be a light for Christ in her workplace. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
