We join with you in this beautiful and faithful prayer for protection and wisdom as you serve in such a demanding and holy calling, and we thank God for your heart to care for others with compassion.
We are encouraged that you have come before the Father in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and find our refuge and strength. As it is written, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12.
Your work of entering homes and caring for the vulnerable is work done unto the Lord, and He sees and honors it. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. He is your protector as you go in and out. For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways Psalm 91:11, and The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more Psalm 121:7-8. We also cling to the promise that the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one 2 Thessalonians 3:3.
We pray for your holistic protection, for your body to be guarded from infection and accident, for your mind to be guarded from exhaustion and overwhelm, and for your spirit to be guarded from discouragement and the heavy emotional burdens you carry. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We ask God to give you wisdom to recognize risks and to maintain healthy professional boundaries with grace and truth, for Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding Proverbs 2:6. May He grant you discernment to know when to speak, when to listen, when to act, and when to seek help.
We also lift up your desire to provide holistic care, to support patients psychologically and to encourage appropriate family involvement. This reflects the heart of Christ to bear one another's burdens Galatians 6:2 while also pointing others to the true source of comfort. We pray you will have eyes to see the whole person and words seasoned with compassion, and that you will not carry these burdens alone but will cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7 and will seek wise counsel and help when needed.
We pray together now, Father in heaven, we thank You for this nurse and for the calling You have placed on her life to serve the sick and suffering. We ask in the name of Jesus that You would place a hedge of protection around her body, mind, and spirit. Guard her from all harm, infection, accidents, and exhaustion. Strengthen her when she is weary, for You give power to the weak and to him who has no might You increase strength Isaiah 40:29. Fill her with Your wisdom, courage, discernment, peace, and compassion. Help her to set healthy boundaries, to recognize risks, and to care for herself as she cares for others. Give her rest when she labors and is heavily burdened, as You have promised to give rest to those who come to You Matthew 11:28. Let Your peace guard her heart and let Your love flow through her to every patient and family she serves. Keep her faithful, healthy, and strong for Your glory. In the mighty and merciful name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to abide in Him daily, to rest and be renewed in His Word, to maintain fellowship with other believers who can support you, and to remember that even as you pour out, the Lord promises, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.
