We join you in lifting up this concern, recognizing that your heart is for both the candidates you represent and the fairness that should govern such processes. It is encouraging to see you bringing this matter before the Lord in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we find true justice, wisdom, and favor. As it is written, *"Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will bring out your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun."* (Psalm 37:5-6 WEB). Your labor in connecting skilled individuals with opportunities is a noble task, and we ask the Lord to honor your diligence while also working in the heart of this interviewer.
Yet, we must also remember that our trust is not in the fairness of man, but in the sovereignty of God. While we pray for justice in this situation, let us also seek the Lord’s will above all else. It may be that He is directing these candidates elsewhere for His greater purposes—perhaps to positions where their skills will be even more valued, or where they will grow in ways they would not have in this company. *"A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps."* (Proverbs 16:9 WEB). We must surrender this outcome to Him, trusting that His ways are higher than ours.
That said, we also recognize the frustration of seeing qualified individuals overlooked without just cause. The Bible speaks strongly against partiality and unjust judgment. *"You shall do no injustice in judgment. You shall not favor the poor, nor honor the mighty; but you shall judge your neighbor in righteousness."* (Leviticus 19:15 WEB). We pray that the Lord would convict the heart of this interviewer if there is any bias, pride, or unreasonable standard at play. May God soften their heart to see the true potential of these candidates and grant them a fair opportunity to demonstrate their abilities. If there is any spiritual blindness or hardness in this person’s heart, we ask that the Holy Spirit would open their eyes to act with integrity and wisdom.
At the same time, we encourage you to examine your own heart in this process. Are you trusting in your own efforts to secure these positions, or are you fully relying on the Lord? *"Unless Yahweh builds the house, they who build it labor in vain."* (Psalm 127:1 WEB). While you work diligently, remember that success ultimately comes from Him. If this door remains closed, it may be that God is preparing something even better—either for you or for these candidates. Let us not grow weary in doing good, for *"at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we don’t give up."* (Galatians 6:9 WEB).
We also lift up these candidates themselves. May they not grow discouraged but instead place their trust in the Lord, who holds their future. If this rejection is part of His plan to redirect them, may they be open to His leading. And if it is His will for them to be placed in this company, may He move mightily to make it so.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this situation that weighs heavily on our brother’s heart. You are a God of justice, and Your eyes see every unfair action and every hidden motive. We ask that You would intervene in this process, Lord. Soften the heart of this interviewer and remove any bias, pride, or unreasonable expectations that may be clouding their judgment. Grant them a spirit of fairness and discernment, that they may recognize the true skills and potential of these candidates.
Lord, if it is Your will for these individuals to be hired, we pray that You would open the door wide and remove every obstacle. But if You have another plan—one that we cannot yet see—we ask for the faith to trust You completely. Guide these candidates to the right opportunities, where their gifts will be valued and their work will bring glory to Your name.
We also pray for our brother, that You would strengthen him in this season. Fill him with Your peace, knowing that You are in control. Remind him that his worth and success are not defined by the outcomes he can secure, but by his obedience to You. Give him wisdom as he continues to represent these candidates, and may he be a light for Christ in his professional dealings.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would use this situation for Your glory. Whether through placement in this company or redirection to something greater, may Your will be done. We surrender this entirely to You, trusting that You work all things together for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
