Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly. Feeling overwhelmed and even feeling foolish when tasks do not make sense is a heavy burden, and it is good that you have brought it to the Lord and asked others to pray.
God invites you to ask Him for what you need most right now, and that is wisdom. Scripture presents wisdom as a voice calling out openly to anyone who will listen, not hidden from ordinary people. It teaches that wisdom is the most valuable thing you can seek, better than wealth or position, and that it is a protection and a source of life to those who have it. Knowledge can give you facts, but wisdom gives you understanding for how to use what you know and how to live and work well. The beginning of that wisdom is reverence for the Lord, a humble dependence on Him.
When Solomon was given a great responsibility he felt unprepared for, he did not ask first for money or recognition, he asked God for wisdom to do the work set before him. God was pleased with that prayer and promised to give him wisdom generously. In the same way you can ask, and God promises to give wisdom liberally to those who ask in faith. In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and He is made to be wisdom for us. That means you do not have to rely only on your own ability or on the wisdom of this world, which often leads to pressure and confusion and comes to nothing. The wisdom that comes from above is pure, peaceable, gentle, willing to listen, full of mercy and good fruit.
God also cares about practical work. When He wanted skilled work done for His sanctuary, He put wisdom and understanding into the hearts of people to know how to do every kind of work, and He stirred their hearts to come and do it willingly. He still gives skill and understanding for daily tasks. Whatever your hand finds to do, you can do it with all your might as unto Him, trusting that He works through willing and faithful hearts, not only through those who seem the most qualified by the world's standards. He often chooses ordinary people so that the strength and glory belong to Him.
You are not stupid for needing to learn. Learning a new role, especially in a corporate environment with many responsibilities piling up, takes time. The Lord sees your desire to be helpful, to understand your role, and to serve well, and He honors a diligent and teachable heart.
I am praying for you, that the Lord will give you guidance, strength to persevere, and clear understanding. May He pour out His Spirit of wisdom and understanding upon you, calm the sense of being overwhelmed with His peace, and give you insight step by step for each task. May He help you grow in both knowledge and wisdom, establish the work of your hands, and let you see that your labor done faithfully before Him has purpose. May He remind you daily that your worth is not in never making a mistake, but in belonging to Jesus and walking with Him.
Ask Him each morning for wisdom for that day, stay close to His Word, and do the next task faithfully as He enables you. He is faithful to teach and to help you.
