PRAYER FOR MY WIFE

Disciple of Prayer
PLEASE REMEMBER MY WIFE IN PRAYERS FOR ME. SHE IS PREGNANT AND HAVING COMPLICATIONS IN HER PREGANCY THE SCAN CANT DETECT THE BABY IN HER WOMB

We lift up your wife and this precious child to the Lord with heavy hearts, knowing the fear and uncertainty that must be weighing on you both. Father God, You are the Author of life, the One who knits each of us together in our mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-14). We ask You to intervene in this situation, to make clear what the scans cannot see, and to protect both mother and baby from harm. Lord, we declare that Your eyes saw this little one’s unformed substance, and in Your book were all the days written for him or her before one of them came to be (Psalm 139:16). We stand on Your promise that children are a heritage from You, a reward (Psalm 127:3), and we ask You to guard this life with Your mighty hand.

We also pray for wisdom for the doctors and medical staff attending to your wife. Give them discernment beyond their training, Lord, that they may see what human eyes cannot and provide the care that is needed. Calm every anxious thought with Your peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:6-7), and remind this couple that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Father, we rebuke any spirit of fear that may be trying to take hold, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We speak life over this child and declare that he or she is fearfully and wonderfully made. Strengthen your wife’s body, Lord, and grant her endurance as she carries this little one. Surround her with Your love and the support of those who will uplift her in prayer and practical ways.

We also want to gently encourage you both to draw near to Jesus in this time, for He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6). It is through His name alone that we have access to the throne of grace, where we find mercy and help in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16). If you have not placed your trust in Him as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Jesus is the Great Physician, and He cares deeply about your wife and this child.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the One who holds all things together (Colossians 1:17). May His peace, which transcends all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We will continue to stand in faith with you, believing for a miracle and a healthy delivery in Your perfect timing. Amen.

We are holding you and your wife close in our hearts right now. The news that the scan cannot detect your baby must be deeply unsettling, the wait for answers, the fears that surge in the quiet moments, all of it. We are so sorry you are walking through this.

Please don’t carry this alone. Let trusted family or friends from your church know what you’re facing so they can surround you with prayer and practical help. Often in times like these, we instinctively withdraw, but staying connected to people who love you can steady your soul when everything feels shaky. And we gently encourage you both to stay in close contact with her medical team. Doctors and midwives are God’s instruments for care, and they can help make sense of what’s happening while you take things one step at a time.

Right now, we simply ask God to be your shelter. In the uncertainty, may you sense his nearness, not because you have a clear answer, but because he is with you in the waiting, holding you through every moment of this.

Lord Jesus, we bring this husband and his wife before your throne. Quiet their racing hearts. Fill them with your peace that stands guard over their minds. Give wisdom and sharp eyes to every medical professional involved. Uphold this dear wife’s body, and cradle her in your tenderness. No matter what unfolds, anchor them both in your faithful love, and give them strength for today. We trust them completely into your hands, in your name. Amen.

What time I am afraid, I will trust in Thee. This is the cry of your heart in this hour of anxious watching over your dear wife. The scan’s failure to detect the child stirs up a storm of fear, and you are tempted to sink beneath the waves of doubt. But here is the very point for faith to lay hold: you are not called to trust in what the eye can see or the hand can touch. The living God, the real God, is not confined to the dim sight of instruments or the reasoning of men. He who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, He who formed the child in the womb in secret, sees what is hidden from our gaze. Shall the creature’s report overthrow the promise of the Creator? Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not to thine own understanding.

This trial has come that you should not trust in yourself, not in your own hopes, your own fears, your own reading of the circumstances. To trust yourself is to build on a broken reed; it imputes falsehood to God, as though He could not be believed. But we trust in the living God, a God with a great, warm, loving heart, who comes into the midst of our affairs and does not leave us to ourselves. He is not an idle spectator. He is the God who hears prayer, and He has bidden you cast your burden upon Him. Do not say, “I will trust when I feel joy, when the next scan shows life, when the complications pass.” Trust Him for that very thing. As a sick man does not wait for health before he trusts the physician, so you, trust Jesus now, in the dark, with the whole weight of your soul’s affairs. He is able to save, to keep, to restore, to bring life out of apparent death.

You are permitted to trust Christ with this precious matter. Yea, it is your sweet privilege to rest the entire case, wife and unborn little one, in His pierced hands. Think not that your anxiety can add anything to His power. He works, and none can hinder. If it should please Him to take the child to Himself, yet He is still the living God, and our departed ones are not dead in Him; this truth gives richest consolation. But we may ask, we may plead, we may wait upon Him who performs all things for His children. Let your prayer be, “Lord, I believe; help Thou mine unbelief.” And then, in the strength of that simple reliance, rise to the better word of Isaiah: I will trust, and not be afraid. This is several stages beyond the first. Fear may knock at the door, but faith keeps it barred. Trust Him with a million souls if you had them; He is that mighty to save.

So go now, and leave your wife and the hidden babe in the Father’s keeping. He that neither slumbers nor sleeps will be her shade upon her right hand. The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. Rest there, and be at peace.
