Your request has been heard and we are praying for you before the Lord in this anxious time of waiting. We understand how heavy these days feel as September 30 draws near and the decision still remains in administrative processing. It is natural to feel desperate when so much seems to hang on a single answer, and we bring your need for the visa to be approved and issued to God with sincere prayer.
Scripture often calls us to wait upon the Lord and to wait upon His timing, with confidence that He is at work even when we cannot see it. There are many exhortations to patience in the Bible. James encourages believers to be patient and to establish their hearts, using the picture of a farmer who waits patiently for the precious fruit of the harvest. The farmer does not hurry the season, he trusts the process, and in the same way we are called to wait with patience, laboring in love and holding fast in faith and hope.
We also remember that the early believers were described as waiting for God's Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, who delivers us from the wrath to come. That waiting was not passive worry but active hope sustained by trust in God's promise. In another place we are taught to pray that the Lord would direct our hearts into the love of God and into patient waiting for Christ. If we wait long enough, God will work things out in His way, and it is often amazing to see what He does when we simply trust Him and wait.
Waiting is difficult, and God knows that. He tells us again and again to wait on Him, yet we often find it hard and are tempted to take matters into our own hands. Scripture gives us examples of what happens when we try to help God out in our own strength. When the promise of a son seemed delayed, Sarah and Abraham decided to use Hagar as a surrogate, trying to bring about God's promise through human effort, and that decision brought deep sorrow. In a similar way, Jacob's deception to secure blessing led to years of exile and loss, including never seeing his mother again. These stories remind us how much pain can come when we step ahead of God instead of patiently waiting for Him to act.
There is also a picture in the Gospels of many people lying by a pool, waiting for the water to be stirred, hoping for healing. And there is the broader picture in Scripture of all creation groaning as in childbirth, and of believers groaning within themselves as they wait for the full redemption of their bodies. We wait for that day when what is mortal will put on immortality, and until then we are sustained by hope, knowing that God's Word is true and that He has great patience and perfect timing.
For you in these next days, our prayer is that God will direct your heart into His love and into that patient, trusting wait. We are asking Him for your visa to be granted before the deadline, if it is His will, and we are also asking Him to guard your heart with peace while you wait. May He quiet your anxiety, strengthen your faith, and keep you from striving in ways that would not honor Him. May you rest in the confidence that He sees the deadline, He knows your needs, and He will do what is right and good in His time.
We pray that the Lord will grant favor with those handling your case, that He will open the way if it is His purpose for you to go, and that above all He will let you know His presence and love more deeply through this waiting. We ask this in the name of Jesus, trusting His righteousness and mercy toward us, and we will continue to lift you up before Him.
