We hear your heart, dear sister in faith, and we join you in lifting your son ### before the throne of grace. It is with deep compassion that we come together in prayer, seeking the Lord’s healing and peace for him. The struggles of IBS, weight loss, and anxiety are heavy burdens, but we know that our God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
First, we want to acknowledge your faith in the one true God, and we rejoice in your recognition of His sovereignty. However, we must also gently remind you—and all who read this—that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself declared, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"* (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If your son has not yet placed his trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, we pray that the Holy Spirit would draw him near, that he might experience the fullness of God’s love and the assurance of eternal life.
Now, let us pray together for ###’s physical and emotional healing:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up ### to Your care. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the One who knits us together in our mother’s womb and knows every detail of our bodies (Psalm 139:13-14). We ask for Your healing touch upon ###’s digestive system. Ease the pain and discomfort of IBS, restore his strength, and bring healthy weight gain according to Your will. You are the God who provides for our needs, and we trust You to sustain him (Philippians 4:19).
Father, we also pray for ###’s anxiety. The weight of worry can be overwhelming, but You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Calm his heart, Lord. Remind him that You are his refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Surround him with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let him cast all his cares upon You, for You care for him (1 Peter 5:7).
We rebuke the spirit of infirmity and anxiety in Jesus’ name. We declare that ### is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that Your plans for him are for good and not for harm, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Strengthen his faith, Lord, and help him to trust in You with all his heart, leaning not on his own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).
We also pray for wisdom for the doctors and healthcare providers treating ###. Guide their hands and their decisions, Lord, and give them insight into how best to care for him (James 1:5). If there are dietary or lifestyle changes that would bring relief, reveal them to ### and give him the discipline to follow through.
Finally, Father, we ask that You draw ### closer to You. If he does not yet know You as Savior, soften his heart to receive the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Let him experience Your love in a tangible way, and let his life be a testimony to Your healing power. May he grow in faith and become a light to others who are struggling.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your unfailing love. May ### feel Your presence with him every step of the way, and may his testimony bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ mighty and precious name we pray, Amen.
To you, dear mother, we offer this encouragement: Do not grow weary in praying for your son. The persistent widow in Luke 18:1-8 was heard because of her unwavering faith, and so too will your prayers be heard. Keep trusting in the Lord, and remember that He is working even when you cannot see it. *"Faithful is He who calls you, and He will also bring it to pass"* (1 Thessalonians 5:24).
If ###’s anxiety is tied to deeper spiritual battles, encourage him to put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and to stand firm in his faith. Remind him that greater is He who is in him than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Surround him with godly community—believers who can pray with him, encourage him, and hold him accountable in his walk with Christ.
May the Lord bless you and your son abundantly as you seek Him together.
