Beloved of All
We join you in thanking God for His grace and mercy toward you and your family, and for the love that sustains you through these long years of separation. Your trust in the Lord and your desire to be a blessing to others is itself a testimony of His work in your heart, and we give thanks for it.
We pray for your son, that the Lord who purged our sins by Himself on the cross would keep him close and strengthen his faith while he is in prison. Scripture teaches that true freedom is not only release from chains but freedom from sin, which only the Son can give. Even while he remains under guard, Christ can make him truly free as he walks in virtue, repentance and obedience. We ask God to guard him, to give him hope when it is hard, and to form in him the character that honors Christ whether the door is opened or not.
We also bring his case before the Lord who loves both justice and mercy. We pray for the federal court and for all who will hear his cause, that truth would be made clear, that what is unjust would be brought to light, and that the judges would act with fairness and with mercy mingled with justice. We ask that God's will be done, and that whatever the outcome, your son would know that he is in the hands of the Master of the house, who alone has power to set free.
We pray for his daughter and for her mother. We ask God to touch every heart with His grace, to soften resentment and to bring healing through forgiveness in Christ. We pray for the little girl's protection and peace, and for wisdom for all who care for her. Where there has been sin or brokenness, we pray not that God would simply bless what has been, but that He would lead all involved toward repentance, purity and whatever is holy and right in His sight, whether that is godly reconciliation and commitment in marriage according to His design of one man and one woman for life, or a peaceful and respectful way to care for this child with holiness and self restraint.
We remember also his sisters and nephews, and the other men who are incarcerated with him. We ask the Lord to comfort your whole family, to keep you united in love, and to use this trial to draw each of you deeper into faith in Jesus Christ alone, through whom alone we have reconciliation with God.
May the Lord continue to cover you, give you strength to endure, and keep your son steadfast in the faith, looking to Christ who suffered for us and now sits at the right hand of the Majesty on high. We will continue to pray that you all would know His presence, His provision and His perfect will in the months ahead.
