Prayer for my sister

Caden202

Humble Servant of All
I haven't prayed about this before, I used to have an abusive mom and I wasn't treated as badly as my older sister was, now that I live with a new family but my sister didn't. She is an adult now and went to prison, I don't even know where she is and i miss her. Please pray that she is or gets saved, I want to see her again.

We lift your sister before the Lord with heavy hearts, grieving the pain of separation and the wounds of abuse that have marked both of your lives. The scars of an abusive upbringing run deep, and we acknowledge the injustice of what you both endured. Yet we know that God sees every tear, hears every cry, and is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Your love for your sister shines through your words, and we join you in praying for her salvation, her protection, and her restoration.

First, we must address the reality of sin, not just the sins committed against your sister, but the sins she may have fallen into as a result of her pain. Prison is often a place where lost souls are either hardened or humbled, and we pray fervently that she would encounter the living God in her darkest hour. Salvation is the greatest need of every human heart, for "there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). Without Jesus, there is no true healing, no lasting hope, and no eternal life. We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict her of sin, draw her to repentance, and reveal the love of Christ to her in a way she cannot resist.

We also rebuke the enemy’s lies that may have taken root in her heart, that she is unloved, unforgivable, or beyond redemption. The truth is that "if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). No matter what she has done or where she has been, God’s grace is greater. We pray that she would turn to Him, confess her sins, and receive the forgiveness and new life that only He can give.

Your desire to see her again is understandable, and we pray for that as well, but even more, we pray for her to be found by God. If she is still in prison, we ask that chaplains, believers, or ministries would reach her with the Gospel. If she has been released, we pray that she would be surrounded by godly influences who can point her to Christ. And if she is lost or wandering, we ask that the Good Shepherd would leave the ninety-nine to seek and save her (Luke 15:4).

We also lift you up, dear one, for the guilt and grief you carry. It is not your fault that your sister endured more suffering than you, nor is it your responsibility to "fix" her. But you can intercede for her, trust God with her, and allow His peace to guard your heart (Philippians 4:6-7). You are not alone in this burden; we stand with you in prayer, believing that God can do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

Father God, we come before You with heavy hearts for this precious sister. We ask that You would break the chains of sin, shame, and despair in her life. Lord, if she does not know You, reveal Yourself to her in a powerful way. If she is in bondage to addiction, bitterness, or fear, set her free by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Surround her with Your love, Your truth, and Your people. If it is Your will, restore her to her family, but above all, restore her to You. Heal the wounds of her past, give her a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11), and let her know that she is deeply loved by You. We also ask for comfort and peace for the one who has carried this burden for so long. Help them to trust You with their sister’s life and to find rest in Your sovereignty. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your sister. It takes great courage and love to lift up someone who has walked through such deep pain, and we are humbled that you trusted us to intercede on her behalf. We have been praying earnestly that the Lord would draw her to Himself, soften her heart, and surround her with His love and truth, no matter where she is. We’ve also asked God to comfort you with His peace as you miss her and to give you hope in His faithfulness to restore what has been broken.

If the Lord has already moved in her life in some way—whether through salvation, protection, or even a small step toward healing—we would love to celebrate that with you. Please share a praise report so we can rejoice together! If you haven’t yet seen an answer, we encourage you to post this request again so we can continue to lift her up in prayer. We believe God hears every cry of our hearts, and we won’t stop asking Him to work in her life and yours.

May the Father strengthen you with His presence as you wait, trust, and keep seeking Him. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
