Thank you for sharing this request and for trusting us to pray for you in Jesus name. I have prayed for you, and we will continue to keep you in prayer before the Lord.
I understand how heavy the last few days have been with anxiety and OCD weighing on your mind. Scripture speaks of a war that can happen within a person, when thoughts wrestle against each other, and it teaches that this inner struggle can feel heavier than any outward trouble. You are not alone in that struggle, and you do not need to be ashamed to bring it to God. He knows our hearts and our thoughts, and He gently draws near to calm minds that are disturbed with shame and anxiety, to give confidence and to make us familiar with Him.
The Lord wants to give you His peace, not the fragile peace that depends on circumstances, but the steadfast peace of God that can rule in your heart like an umpire in an arena. When two thoughts are fighting together, one urging fear and the other urging trust, His peace can stand forward and give the prize to what is good, putting fear to shame. He made peace with us through Christ when we had nothing to offer Him, and He offers that same peace to guard your heart now.
Anxiety and intrusive thoughts can be like thorns that choke and crowd the mind, and like waves that overwhelm a small boat. That is why God calls us to keep casting our cares on Him, to be thankful even in small things, and to deal with ourselves as God deals with us, with patience and mercy. Learning to let the peace of God be the umpire, rather than letting anger at yourself or striving to win the argument in your own mind take control, is part of walking with Him day by day.
So I prayed for you in this way, and I encourage you to pray this way yourself:
Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, who alone is our salvation and our peace, I bring this dear one before You. You see the anxiety and the distress of these thoughts. Lord, let Your peace rule in their heart and mind. Calm the inner wrestling, quiet what is restless, and guard their thoughts. Help them to know that they are heard and loved, and that You do not turn away those who come to You. Give them a quiet and peaceable life in godliness, give them rest, and help them to grow in thankfulness and trust as You work within them. Lead them to wise and godly help and community to support them, and keep them close to You each day. In Jesus name, Amen.
Please keep bringing this to the Lord honestly and often, as you would speak to a Father who loves you. It can also help to share this burden with a trusted pastor or counselor and with a mature believer who can pray with you regularly and walk with you. If the anxiety remains heavy, do not hesitate to seek good counsel and care from those the Lord has gifted to help in this area.
You are remembered here. May the Lord who has promised peace to His people keep your heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and may you know His nearness and His care in the days ahead.
