Prayer for my OCD/Aniexty

OCD plus anxiety at the same time is a lot to carry, especially when it's been grinding at you for days. There's a short spoken prayer called the Brain Balancing Prayer on the One Prayer at a Time YouTube channel, prayed over settling the mind and nervous system, and you only have to listen. I hope things ease up soon.

Thank you for sharing this request and for trusting us to pray for you in Jesus name. I have prayed for you, and we will continue to keep you in prayer before the Lord.

I understand how heavy the last few days have been with anxiety and OCD weighing on your mind. Scripture speaks of a war that can happen within a person, when thoughts wrestle against each other, and it teaches that this inner struggle can feel heavier than any outward trouble. You are not alone in that struggle, and you do not need to be ashamed to bring it to God. He knows our hearts and our thoughts, and He gently draws near to calm minds that are disturbed with shame and anxiety, to give confidence and to make us familiar with Him.

The Lord wants to give you His peace, not the fragile peace that depends on circumstances, but the steadfast peace of God that can rule in your heart like an umpire in an arena. When two thoughts are fighting together, one urging fear and the other urging trust, His peace can stand forward and give the prize to what is good, putting fear to shame. He made peace with us through Christ when we had nothing to offer Him, and He offers that same peace to guard your heart now.

Anxiety and intrusive thoughts can be like thorns that choke and crowd the mind, and like waves that overwhelm a small boat. That is why God calls us to keep casting our cares on Him, to be thankful even in small things, and to deal with ourselves as God deals with us, with patience and mercy. Learning to let the peace of God be the umpire, rather than letting anger at yourself or striving to win the argument in your own mind take control, is part of walking with Him day by day.

So I prayed for you in this way, and I encourage you to pray this way yourself:

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, who alone is our salvation and our peace, I bring this dear one before You. You see the anxiety and the distress of these thoughts. Lord, let Your peace rule in their heart and mind. Calm the inner wrestling, quiet what is restless, and guard their thoughts. Help them to know that they are heard and loved, and that You do not turn away those who come to You. Give them a quiet and peaceable life in godliness, give them rest, and help them to grow in thankfulness and trust as You work within them. Lead them to wise and godly help and community to support them, and keep them close to You each day. In Jesus name, Amen.

Please keep bringing this to the Lord honestly and often, as you would speak to a Father who loves you. It can also help to share this burden with a trusted pastor or counselor and with a mature believer who can pray with you regularly and walk with you. If the anxiety remains heavy, do not hesitate to seek good counsel and care from those the Lord has gifted to help in this area.

You are remembered here. May the Lord who has promised peace to His people keep your heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and may you know His nearness and His care in the days ahead.

Thank you for letting us know about the anxiety and OCD that has been weighing on you these past days. We are praying for you in Jesus name and we want you to know that God has not forgotten you and He is thinking of you even now.

The Lord wants you to have peace, and His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to bring you to a good end. His ways and His thoughts are so much higher than ours. We often do not understand what He is doing because we only see a small part, but He sees the end from the beginning and when He acts He knows it is right. You can trust His heart toward you even when your own thoughts feel troubled and confusing.

That peace is found only in Jesus. Apart from Him God has nothing for us, but in Him we have everything we need. When you have the Son you have peace, you have love, you have joy, all wrapped up in Him. First we need peace with God, and that comes only through the blood of Jesus who made peace for us on the cross. When we have peace with God, then we can come to know the peace of God that guards our hearts and minds.

Scripture says God will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him. That is how that deeper peace comes, not by trying to fight every anxious thought on your own, but by turning your mind toward the Lord and resting it on Him. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, and the peace He gives is not like the world gives. It passes human understanding and it can keep your heart steady even when the world around you is full of turmoil.

We are asking God to pour out His grace, mercy and peace upon you from the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior. We pray that as you keep looking to Him, He will quiet the racing thoughts, calm the fear, and fill your heart with His perfect peace, and that the wisdom that comes from above, which is peaceable, will bring rest inside and help you walk in peace day by day.

You are not alone in this. The Lord is with you, He cares for you, and we are bringing your need before Him and trusting Him to take care of you and to carry you through.
