Prayer for my mum

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Hello, my mum will visit me this Christmas. I love her but we had many arguments in the past. She is no Christian, I think. She is also oppressed by some demonic forces, like control, monitoring spirits, witchcraft. But I really want to honor and love her and have a good and peaceful time with her. She is also bitter and traumatized and endured a lot in her life. Please pray that she may be refreshed through our meeting, find new hope, that the Lord opens her eyes to see all the good things He works in my life and that I do not get angry with her or argue. And that her broken heart may heal and she may even find the Lord and start to believe. But especially, that also our relationship and her heart heals.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your dear mother to the Lord, who alone can heal, restore, and redeem. Father God, we acknowledge that You are the God of all comfort, the One who binds up the brokenhearted and sets the captives free. We thank You for the love this child of Yours has for their mother, a love that reflects Your own heart for the lost and the hurting.

Lord, we first rebuke every demonic force that has sought to oppress, control, and torment this precious woman. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we command every monitoring spirit, every spirit of witchcraft, and every spirit of bitterness and trauma to flee from her. The Word declares in James 4:7, *"Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."* We stand on this promise, Lord, and declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray that the chains of darkness would be broken, and that she would be loosed from every snare of the enemy.

Father, we ask that You would go before this visit and prepare both hearts—this child of Yours and their mother. Soften her heart to receive love, truth, and hope. Open her eyes to see the goodness of God in the life of Your servant, that she may witness Your faithfulness and be drawn to You. We pray that the Holy Spirit would move powerfully during their time together, bringing peace where there has been strife, healing where there has been hurt, and light where there has been darkness.

Lord, we also ask for grace for Your child as they seek to honor their mother. Guard their heart against frustration, anger, or old patterns of argument. Fill them with Your patience, kindness, and self-control, that they may reflect Christ in every interaction. Help them to speak the truth in love, even if the truth is not received, and to cover her with grace as You have covered them. Remind them of Your Word in Proverbs 15:1, *"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."*

We lift up this mother’s broken heart to You, the Great Physician. You promise in Psalm 147:3, *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."* Lord, we ask that You would pour out Your healing balm upon her soul. Comfort her in the places where she has been wounded, restore what has been stolen, and replace her bitterness with Your peace. Let her encounter Your love in a tangible way, that she may know You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

Above all, Father, we pray for her salvation. You desire that none should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). We ask that You would remove the scales from her eyes, that she may see the truth of the Gospel and the hope found only in Jesus Christ. Soften her heart to receive the message of salvation, that she may confess with her mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in her heart that You raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). Let this Christmas be the season where she encounters the true Light of the world, Jesus Christ, who came to save sinners and set the captives free.

We also ask that You would heal the relationship between mother and child. Mend the brokenness of the past and replace it with a bond rooted in Your love. Let this visit be a turning point, where old wounds are forgiven, and new foundations of trust and respect are laid. May their time together be marked by Your presence, joy, and peace.

Lord, we know that apart from You, we can do nothing (John 15:5). So we surrender this situation into Your hands, trusting that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). We declare that no situation is too hard for You, and no heart is beyond Your reach. We praise You in advance for the miracles You will perform in this mother’s life and in this relationship.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We're right there with you, friend, lifting your ### up to the Lord. We're asking Him to wrap His loving arms around her, to comfort her in her brokenness, and to fill her with His peace. We're believing for a miracle, that she'll encounter Jesus in a real way this Christmas, and that your relationship will be healed and strengthened. Let's trust that God is at work, even in the most difficult situations. In Jesus' name, we pray.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!

We are deeply grateful for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your mother as she prepares to visit this Christmas. It is a sacred opportunity to lift up her heart, her struggles, and your relationship before the Lord, and we have done so with earnest hearts over these past days.

We have prayed that the Holy Spirit would go before her, breaking every chain of oppression and silencing the voices of darkness that have sought to bind her. Father, we asked You to surround her with Your peace, to heal the wounds of her past, and to soften her heart to receive the love and hope that only You can provide. We interceded for you as well, that You would guard your heart from frustration or anger, filling you instead with patience, grace, and the wisdom to speak life into her situation. May this time together be marked by Your presence, Lord, and may she leave refreshed, encouraged, and drawn closer to You.

If the Lord has already begun to move in miraculous ways—if there has been a shift in her spirit, a moment of peace, or even a glimpse of His goodness—we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you. But if the answer still feels distant, or if new burdens have arisen, please know that we are here to continue standing with you in prayer. You are not alone in this, and we will keep lifting her and your relationship to the throne of grace.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you seek to honor Him in this season. May His love overflow through you, and may His light shine brightly in your home. We trust that He is at work, even now, and we pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus. Amen.
