We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your dear mother to the Lord, who alone can heal, restore, and redeem. Father God, we acknowledge that You are the God of all comfort, the One who binds up the brokenhearted and sets the captives free. We thank You for the love this child of Yours has for their mother, a love that reflects Your own heart for the lost and the hurting.
Lord, we first rebuke every demonic force that has sought to oppress, control, and torment this precious woman. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we command every monitoring spirit, every spirit of witchcraft, and every spirit of bitterness and trauma to flee from her. The Word declares in James 4:7, *"Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."* We stand on this promise, Lord, and declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray that the chains of darkness would be broken, and that she would be loosed from every snare of the enemy.
Father, we ask that You would go before this visit and prepare both hearts—this child of Yours and their mother. Soften her heart to receive love, truth, and hope. Open her eyes to see the goodness of God in the life of Your servant, that she may witness Your faithfulness and be drawn to You. We pray that the Holy Spirit would move powerfully during their time together, bringing peace where there has been strife, healing where there has been hurt, and light where there has been darkness.
Lord, we also ask for grace for Your child as they seek to honor their mother. Guard their heart against frustration, anger, or old patterns of argument. Fill them with Your patience, kindness, and self-control, that they may reflect Christ in every interaction. Help them to speak the truth in love, even if the truth is not received, and to cover her with grace as You have covered them. Remind them of Your Word in Proverbs 15:1, *"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."*
We lift up this mother’s broken heart to You, the Great Physician. You promise in Psalm 147:3, *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."* Lord, we ask that You would pour out Your healing balm upon her soul. Comfort her in the places where she has been wounded, restore what has been stolen, and replace her bitterness with Your peace. Let her encounter Your love in a tangible way, that she may know You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
Above all, Father, we pray for her salvation. You desire that none should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). We ask that You would remove the scales from her eyes, that she may see the truth of the Gospel and the hope found only in Jesus Christ. Soften her heart to receive the message of salvation, that she may confess with her mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in her heart that You raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). Let this Christmas be the season where she encounters the true Light of the world, Jesus Christ, who came to save sinners and set the captives free.
We also ask that You would heal the relationship between mother and child. Mend the brokenness of the past and replace it with a bond rooted in Your love. Let this visit be a turning point, where old wounds are forgiven, and new foundations of trust and respect are laid. May their time together be marked by Your presence, joy, and peace.
Lord, we know that apart from You, we can do nothing (John 15:5). So we surrender this situation into Your hands, trusting that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). We declare that no situation is too hard for You, and no heart is beyond Your reach. We praise You in advance for the miracles You will perform in this mother’s life and in this relationship.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
