We hear your heart and lift this situation before the Lord with great sincerity. First, we want to acknowledge your desire to honor God in all things, including your obedience to your mother as Scripture commands. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6:1-2, *"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‘Honor your father and mother,’ which is the first commandment with a promise."* We pray that your mother’s heart would be softened to sign this permission slip, not just for the opportunity it provides you, but as an act of trust in the Lord’s guidance for your life.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach You and find salvation. We ask that You would move in this situation, Lord. Give this young one the strength and courage they’ve asked for, and grant their mother wisdom and peace as she makes this decision. Help her to see the goodness of Your plans for her child, as Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."*
We also want to gently encourage you to continue praying with faith, trusting that God hears you. Philippians 4:6-7 says, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Even if the answer doesn’t come immediately, know that God is working behind the scenes. If there is any hesitation or fear in your mother’s heart, we pray that the Lord would replace it with His perfect peace.
If there are underlying concerns—whether about safety, timing, or other matters—we ask that the Lord would bring clarity and unity between you and your mother. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."* We pray that both of you would lean on Him in this decision.
Lastly, we want to remind you that your ultimate strength and courage come from Jesus Christ. If you haven’t already, we encourage you to place your trust in Him as your Lord and Savior. Romans 10:9 says, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* Salvation is found in no one else, and it is the foundation for every prayer we lift to God.
Heavenly Father, we lift this request to You now. We ask that You would open the door for this permission slip to be signed, not just for the sake of the opportunity, but so that Your will would be done in this young one’s life. Give them patience, wisdom, and a heart that seeks You above all else. We pray for their mother, that she would be filled with Your peace and guided by Your hand. May this situation bring glory to Your name and draw this family closer to You. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.
