Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my daughter and son in law. My daughter wants to split after a one month marriage. The devil is attacking both with the ways of this world. Please open and soften my daughter's heart. Open their eyes to what the devil is doing. Give both strength to fight this. My eight year old granddaughter will be caught in the middle because she loves both. I pray they find their way back to you Father and follow the path you have for them. I ask your protection over them, surround them and keep them safe.

Marriage
Marriage is a divine bond that demands lifelong devotion and respect from both partners.
Present Privilege and Future Favour
God is your eternal refuge and support, offering safety and strength in every trial.
Satan On His Travels
Satan roams the earth spreading chaos and demands your vigilance against his deceptions.
We join you in lifting up your daughter and son-in-law before the throne of grace and we stand with you in agreement for their marriage to be healed and restored. We hear your burden for them and for your eight year old granddaughter who loves them both, and we know God hears your cry as well.

God takes marriage very seriously as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman. Jesus said What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate Mark 10:9 and also For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh Matthew 19:6. We also remember that the Lord says He hates divorce Malachi 2:16, not because He wants people to remain in misery, but because He knows the pain and brokenness it brings, especially to children, and because His desire is for reconciliation, forgiveness, and enduring love. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things 1 Corinthians 13:7.

You rightly discerned that the enemy is attacking them with the ways of this world. We are reminded that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12 and that your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour 1 Peter 5:8. The world will tell them to follow their feelings, to quit when it is hard, and to put self first, but God calls them to die to self, to forgive, and to fight for their covenant. We encourage them to resist the devil and he will flee from you James 4:7 and to remember that No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able 1 Corinthians 10:13. Greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4.

We also noticed you prayed to the Father, which is good, but we want to gently remind you and your family that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If your daughter and son-in-law have drifted from the Lord, the first step back is to confess with the mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in the heart that God raised Him from the dead Romans 10:9. We pray they will both turn to Jesus anew and make Him the foundation of their marriage.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this young marriage that is only one month old and is already under such heavy attack. Lord, soften the heart of this daughter, remove any hardness, pride, or worldly counsel that would lead her to split what You have joined together. Open the eyes of both husband and wife to see the schemes of the enemy and give them strength and courage to fight for their marriage in Your power and not their own. Pour out Your Spirit of repentance, forgiveness, humility, and unconditional love upon them. Teach them to love as You love, to be patient and kind, to bear with one another, and to keep their vows before You. Surround them with Your protection, keep them safe from temptation and the lies of this world, and lead them back to following the path You have for them. Lord, we especially lift up their eight year old granddaughter, protect her little heart from confusion and hurt, let her feel secure in Your love, and use this situation to show her Your faithfulness and power to restore. Bring godly counsel, a Bible believing pastor or counselor, and a church family around this couple to walk with them, to teach them Your Word, and to hold them accountable. Let this marriage become a testimony of Your redeeming grace. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to stand in the gap for them with prayer and fasting, to speak truth in love without taking sides, and to point them constantly back to Scripture and to Jesus. Encourage them to pray together daily, to read the Word together, to seek pastoral counseling quickly, and to guard their hearts and minds from worldly influences, social media, and ungodly advice. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. Trust that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think Ephesians 3:20 and that He desires to heal what is broken. We will keep praying with you for softened hearts, opened eyes, and a marriage that honors God for a lifetime.

We hear how heavy this is to carry as a mother and grandmother, watching your daughter and son-in-law struggle so early in their marriage and knowing your granddaughter loves them both deeply. Wanting to protect them and to see their hearts softened is a faithful, loving response.

A first month of marriage can feel overwhelming, and what feels like an ending in a moment of hurt is not always what either person wants long term. Reconciliation, when it is possible, takes a willing commitment from both husband and wife to rebuild love and trust, and that is often a slow process. You cannot do that work for them, but your steady, prayerful presence matters more than you may realize.

One gentle next step is to keep being a safe, non-pressuring support. Let your daughter know you love her and are praying for her and for her husband, without trying to argue her into staying. If they are open, you might offer to help them connect with a trusted pastor or counselor together, and let them decide. For your granddaughter, keeping her routines steady and reassuring her that she is deeply loved by you and by God can help her feel secure while the adults work through this.

Father, we lift this family to You. We ask You to surround this daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter with Your protection and to keep them safe. Soften hearts where there is hardness, open eyes to see clearly, and give wisdom for each next decision. Draw each of them closer to You and guide them in Your path. In Jesus' name, amen.

We join you in bringing this burden before the throne of grace, and we thank you for your love for your daughter, her husband, and your granddaughter.

There is abundant healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation, and even the least thing about Christ is healing. As you have asked, we pray that the Lord who alone can heal the broken heart will work that healing in this young marriage. We pray that pardon and healing, which are placed in happy conjunction in the gospel, would be known in both their lives. Where sin and the ways of this world have wounded and divided, may the Lord convict of sin and then apply the remedy which is found only at Calvary through faith in Christ alone.

We pray that God, who is the God of peace and has prepared perfect reconciliation through His Son, would do a work of true reconciliation here. First, reconciliation unto Himself, that both your daughter and her husband would find their way back to the Father through Jesus Christ, not imputing their trespasses unto them but forgiving them for His sake. And then, from that peace with God, reconciliation one to another. We ask the Lord to soften your daughter's heart, to open the eyes of them both to see the snares of the enemy, and to give them strength by the Holy Spirit to fight against temptation and to walk in the path He has appointed.

We remember how the Lord restored Peter after his fall, not with harshness but with a look of love that severed him from the crowd and brought him to repentance, and then with abundant assurance of restoration. So we ask that the Lord would grant such restoring grace here, that if there has been wandering or hardness, there would be a turning again and a strengthening of what remains. Marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, ordained by God, and we ask Him to guard and keep this covenant from being broken after only one month.

We ask also for your granddaughter, who loves them both and is caught in the middle. May the Lord surround her and keep her safe, and let her see in her home the healing leaves of the tree of life at work, changing the life and making the nature new.

We will continue to pray that the Lord who heals the wounded and binds up the brokenhearted will dwell in that home, that He will teach them by His Word, for faith comes by hearing, and that the Sun of Righteousness will rise upon them with healing in His wings. May He give them a mind to hear what God the Lord will speak, and grace to follow Him.

Father, hear this prayer for this family. Bring pardon, bring healing, bring reconciliation, and keep them in Your protecting hand. In the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in prayer for your ###, your son in law, and your granddaughter, and we hear the weight of sorrow you carry for them. To see a marriage of only one month already strained to the point of breaking is painful, and to see a young child caught in the middle brings even deeper grief. We bring your request before the Lord with you.

Scripture teaches that marriage is honorable and pure, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman. It is not itself holiness, but it preserves the holiness that comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone, by keeping husband and wife in faithful, chaste and orderly love for one another and not permitting impurity. Marriage is not to be condemned nor treated lightly, and it is not an obstacle to following Christ. When lived with moderation, gentleness, and virtue, and with Christ invited to be present in the home, it becomes a spiritual union in which both are helped toward God. For this reason we do not pray that God would bless a separation, but that He would strengthen and preserve what He has joined together.

You rightly discern that there is a spiritual struggle here. The ways of this world, with their love of display, pleasure and self will, press hard against faithfulness and peace. We pray that God would open the eyes of both your daughter and her husband to see these pressures for what they are, soften your daughter's heart, and give them both a desire for holiness, patience and humility. May they turn from whatever would divide them and learn to seek first the kingdom of God, bearing with one another in love and pursuing peace.

Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, through whom alone is salvation, we ask for mercy on this young marriage. Soften hearts that have grown hard, open eyes that have been clouded, and give strength to resist temptation and to fight for what is good. Surround this family with Your protection and keep them safe from harm. Draw both husband and wife back to Yourself, that they may follow the path You have for them in faithfulness and love. We especially place their eight year old daughter before You. Guard her heart from fear and confusion, let her feel Your nearness, and let her see in her home a picture of Your steadfast love. Grant wisdom to all who counsel them, and lead this family to walk in gentleness, modesty, and the fear of God.

We encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer and to urge your daughter and son in law, as you have opportunity, to seek the Lord together through His Word, through prayer, and through the counsel of faithful pastors in their local church. Invite Christ into every part of their marriage, not only in words but in daily choices toward purity, forgiveness and self control. God is able to restore and to make firm what is shaken, and we will continue to ask Him to do that work for His glory and for their good.
