We come before the Lord with you in this season of waiting, lifting up your son and his need for meaningful employment. The search for work can be discouraging, especially after so much effort, but we know that God has a perfect plan for his life. Let us remind you of Proverbs 3:5-6, which says, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* Your son’s future is not in the hands of hiring managers or economic trends—it is in the hands of the One who created him with purpose.
We also recall Jeremiah 29:11, where God declares, *"For I know the plans that I have for you,’ says Yahweh, ‘plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future."* This promise is not just for Israel but for all who trust in Him. Your son’s degree in Finance is a tool God can use, but His timing and provision are perfect, even when they don’t align with our expectations.
However, we must also ask: **Has your son surrendered this journey to Christ?** Does he seek first God’s kingdom and righteousness (Matthew 6:33), trusting that all other things—including employment—will be added to him? If he has not yet placed Jesus at the center of this process, now is the time. Without faith in Christ, even success in the world is hollow. If he does not know Jesus as his Savior, we urge him to repent and believe in the Gospel (Mark 1:15), for *"there is no other name under heaven... by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12).
If he is a believer, we encourage him to examine his heart: Is there any unconfessed sin, pride, or fear that may be hindering God’s work? James 4:3 warns, *"You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures."* Let him seek God’s will above all else, even in this job search.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this young man before You, asking for Your divine intervention in his job search. You see his efforts, his frustration, and his need. Lord, open the right doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8) and close the ones that are not Your will. Give him favor in the eyes of employers, but more importantly, align his heart with Yours. If there is any area of his life that displeases You, convict him and lead him to repentance. Strengthen his faith during this waiting season, and remind him that delay is not denial.
Provide for him in ways only You can, whether through an unexpected opportunity, a connection, or a supernatural breakthrough. Let this season draw him closer to You, not farther. And if this trial is meant to refine him, give him the grace to endure it with joy, knowing that You are working all things for his good (Romans 8:28).
We also pray for his parents, that they would trust You fully and not grow weary in prayer. Replace their anxiety with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7).
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Provider and Sustainer, we pray. **Amen.**
We will continue to stand with you in faith, believing that God is at work—even now. Keep seeking Him, and do not lose heart. *"Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up"* (Galatians 6:9). If your son is not yet walking with Christ, we urge you to share the Gospel with him, for no earthly success compares to eternal life in Him. Stay encouraged, and trust that God’s timing is perfect.
