Prayer for more boldness

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Recovering from severe trauma and isolation I would like to come out of isolation and use gifts and talents and pursue community again. Please pray for me. Thank You Jesus for the blessings to come!

We thank God with you for the desire He has placed in your heart to come out of isolation and to step forward in boldness. That desire itself is evidence of His healing work in you, for He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3 and He is near to those who are of a broken heart, and saves those who are of a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. We rejoice that you are recovering from severe trauma and we stand with you in prayer for continued restoration and courage.

We understand how trauma can make isolation feel safe, yet the Lord did not create us to remain alone. His Word reminds us not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another Hebrews 10:25 and that two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor Ecclesiastes 4:9. Community is part of His design for our healing and for our growth, and we pray He will gently lead you back into fellowship where you are encouraged and where you can encourage others.

We pray for boldness for you, for God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. We ask the Lord to replace any lingering fear or anxiety with His perfect power and love, and to make you strong and courageous, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go Joshua 1:9 and to remind you daily fear not, for I am with you Isaiah 41:10. True boldness does not come from our own strength but from knowing He goes before us and walks beside us.

We also thank God for the gifts and talents He has entrusted to you. Each of us has received gifts according to the grace that was given to us Romans 12:6 and we are to serve one another as good stewards of the grace of God 1 Peter 4:10. Your gifts are needed in the body of Christ and we pray the Lord will open doors for you to use them for His glory, whether in a local church, in small community, in serving others, or in creative ways He reveals. We encourage you to take small faithful steps as He leads, to seek a Bible believing fellowship where you can be known and use what He has given you, and to be patient with yourself as He continues His healing.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, through whom we have access to Your throne of grace. We thank You for the healing You have already begun and for the work You will continue to do. We ask You to pour out a fresh spirit of boldness and courage, to heal every wound from trauma, to quiet every fear, and to draw our friend out of isolation into the community and purpose You have prepared. Lead to a godly community where love and truth abound, provide trusted brothers and sisters to walk alongside, and show clearly how to use the gifts and talents You have given for Your glory and for the building up of others. Let Your joy and hope fill this heart as You reveal the blessings to come. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, our healer and our strength, amen.

We are grateful you shared this with us. Wanting to step out of isolation after severe trauma takes real courage, and asking for boldness and for community again is a hopeful sign.

Coming back into community does not have to happen all at once. Many who have walked through trauma find that steady, small steps are more sustainable than trying to do everything at once. Boldness often looks quiet at first, showing up to one gathering, having a conversation with one trusted person, staying a few minutes after worship to connect.

You mentioned wanting to use your gifts and talents again. One gentle next step could be to talk with a pastor or a trusted leader in your church about one gift you would like to offer and one low pressure way to try it in the next couple weeks, maybe serving alongside others rather than on your own. Being with God's people in worship and in small fellowship can slowly ease that sense of isolation, and having a counselor or pastor walk with you alongside prayer can give extra support as you heal.

We are praying for you as you take these steps.

Father, we thank You for them and for the desire You have placed in them for community and purpose. Give them courage for each small step, guard their heart as they heal, and lead them to safe, caring people to walk with. Guide them in using the gifts You have given, at Your pace and in Your way. In Jesus' name, amen.

It is a good and hopeful thing that the Lord has stirred in your heart a desire to come out of isolation and to use the gifts He has given you for His glory and for the good of His people. We count it a privilege to pray with you and for you in this season of recovery.

We pray that you may know what it is to come boldly to the throne of grace, as the Scripture says, Let us come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Prayer occupies a most important place in the life of the Christian, and a Christian's vigor, happiness, growth and usefulness all depend upon it. The Lord Jesus is not a distant memory but a living and familiar Friend, and He invites you to look to Him for all things and to tell Him all your sorrows and needs. May He give you that holy boldness which pleads with God and then goes forth to walk with God before men.

We also pray that you will not be discouraged if recovery should be slow. As you grow a little stronger, and a little stronger, may you acknowledge in each increase of strength that the Lord has a new claim upon your affection, for true strength is in Him, and He will strengthen you to walk in His ways. He knows the weight of severe trauma and the ache of long isolation, and He is able to restore the soul that thirsts for Him. The summit of joy for the believer is fellowship with God, and from that fellowship flows courage to seek fellowship with His people again.

May the Lord lead you gently into Christian community where there is kindly association and true sympathy, and where your gifts may be exercised for edification. One of the great blessings of the church is Christian conversation seasoned with grace, speaking of the glory of Christ's kingdom and His upholding power. May He provide such companions for you, and make you a blessing to them.

Our prayer for you is this: Father of mercies, in the name of Jesus Christ our only hope, grant to this dear soul boldness to draw near to You, healing from trauma, daily strength to step out of isolation, and open doors to serve You with joy in the midst of Your people. Let communion with You be the wellspring of courage, and let every small advance be seen as Your goodness going before. We thank You, Lord Jesus, for the blessings to come, and we ask that You would be glorified in this life. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
