Silas
Beloved of All
Your honest prayer for discernment and protection in the workplace has been heard, and it is right to bring this burden to the Lord. The desire you expressed, that truth would come to light and that justice and peace would prevail, reflects the heart of God, for His Word tells us that truth is not temporary or changing. It dwells in those who know Christ and it will remain forever, while heaven and earth will pass away but His words will not.
Scripture places great weight on walking in truth. There is no greater joy than to know that those we love and serve are walking in truth, holding fast to what they received from the beginning, which is to love one another and to obey what God has commanded. To walk in truth means more than simply agreeing that something is true. Many people give mental assent to truth yet do not live it. God calls us to be doers of the Word and not hearers only, to gird ourselves with truth as part of our spiritual armor so we can stand against deception and lies. Jesus Himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life, and He came to bear witness to the truth so that everyone who is of the truth may hear His voice. His Word is truth, and it is by His Holy Spirit that truth is revealed to our hearts.
In that light, it is good to pray as you have for your department head, that God would grant her clear eyes and a wise mind. The enemy works through confusion, gossip, and manipulation, and he has always tried to turn people away from the truth. Prayer is powerful to open eyes that have been clouded, not to hide truth but to gently reveal it, as the Lord Himself always seeks to reveal truth rather than conceal it. We can ask that God would help her see people and situations as they truly are, with fairness and integrity, and give her courage to stand firm in what is right rather than being swayed by the agendas of others.
It is also meaningful that you remembered the kindness you showed when you first began working together, supporting and standing by her in difficult days. God sees and honors that kind of faithful help. In the Scriptures we see a picture of this when Boaz protected Ruth, inviting her to eat, providing for her, and commanding that she be allowed to glean without reproach. That same protective care is what we ask from the Lord over you now, that He would guard your reputation, your peace of mind, and your work, and that He would guard her mind and spirit as well.
Continue to walk in truth yourself as you wait on the Lord. Sometimes telling and living the truth is painful and not everyone wants to hear it, but truth remains our defense. Stand with your life girded in truth, speak with honesty and love, and refuse to repay gossip with gossip. Commit your career and your daily peace into the Father's hands, trusting that He is able to heal division and let His peace reign in your workplace.
Let us pray together. Father, we ask in the name of Jesus that You would pour out grace, mercy, and peace in truth and love upon this workplace. Grant to this leader a spirit of wisdom and discernment, clear her mind from confusion, and let truth be seen plainly and gently. Protect her from manipulation and from words that would poison or mislead, and give her strength to act with integrity. Guard this one who has prayed, keep their heart at peace, protect their good name, and help them to continue walking in truth and love before You and before others. Reveal what needs to be revealed according to Your will, heal what is divided, and let Your will be done. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
