May i be a new person in mind, body, and spirit.
2 Corinthians 5:16-17 (KJV)
16 Wherefore henceforth
know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we
him no more.
17 Therefore if any man
be in Christ,
he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
By this scripture passage you are already all the things you desire to be. In your spirit you are as perfect as you will ever be. The Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit dwell in your spirit because your spirit is clean and has no more worldly ties, a new nature. The old nature of man has died with Jesus, and you have been resurrected with Jesus as a new creature, with the nature of God.
Our mind and our body are another story. Our mind needs to be renewed to the Word of God. We still sin, but not because of our nature. Before we are saved we have the fallen nature of mankind, so we are sinners. We sinned before our salvation because we were sinners. After salvation, we sin because of habit. Our mindset and mental habits result in our sinning. Our bodies are destined to die but will be resurrected a new body, like Jesus, at the resurrection of the dead. Our bodies are carnal and exert a lot of control and influence over our will and emotions. The is why we are admonished to bring our bodies under control, by using the fruit of the Spirit.
Anyway, we know no man after the flesh, even our own selves. We believe and have faith that through Jesus we have been made new in our minds. We are not trying to get rid of old habits. We want to replace the old habits with the gifts and blessings God has given us through what Jesus has done for us. We are trying to enforce in our lives the things we have been given through Jesus. We fight from a place of victory, Jesus having won the victory for us.
IN the name of Jesus, I bless you with the life of God, His wisdom and understanding.
