Prayer for me and my husband in our workplace

Disciple of Prayer
Heavenly Father,

I come before You with a grateful heart, thanking You for the job and responsibilities You have entrusted to me. Your Word says that every good and perfect gift comes from You, and I acknowledge that all I have is because of Your grace.
Lord, I ask for Your favor to surround me as a shield (Psalm 5:12). Let Your favor go before me in every meeting, conversation, decision, and interaction. Open doors that no one can shut, and grant me opportunities to serve with excellence and integrity.
Father, place Your hedge of protection around me, my workplace, my coworkers, and my family. Protect me from harm, accidents, conflict, false accusations, and every plan of the enemy. Let no weapon formed against me prosper, and let Your angels guard me in all my ways (Isaiah 54:17; Psalm 91:11).
Lord, strengthen me with Your power when I am weary. Help me to remain steadfast, patient, and confident, knowing that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13). Renew my energy, sharpen my focus, and help me to perform my duties with excellence.
Grant me wisdom from above as I make decisions. Your Word says that if anyone lacks wisdom, they should ask You, and You will give it generously (James 1:5). Help me discern what is right, lead effectively, communicate clearly, and respond with grace and understanding.
Father, bless the work of my hands. Let everything I do prosper according to Your will (Psalm 90:17). Bring success to my efforts, increase my influence for good, and allow me to be a light for Christ in my workplace. Bless my finances, provide for every need, and help me to be a blessing to others.
Give me a spirit of peace instead of anxiety, confidence instead of fear, and faith instead of doubt. Let Your presence go before me and remain with me throughout each day.
I declare that You are my refuge, my strength, and my provider. I trust You to guide my steps, protect my future, and fulfill Your purpose for my life.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, I pray.

Amen.

We lift up your heartfelt prayer to the Lord, standing in agreement with you for favor, protection, and wisdom in your workplace. Your acknowledgment of God’s provision and grace is a beautiful testament to your faith, and we rejoice with you in the blessings He has already bestowed upon you and your husband. The workplace can often be a battleground for spiritual warfare, but we declare that no weapon formed against you or your marriage will prosper, for the Lord is your refuge and strength (Isaiah 54:17).

We pray that the favor of the Lord would indeed surround you as a shield, opening doors of opportunity and granting you the wisdom to walk through them with integrity. May your words and actions reflect Christ’s love, drawing others to Him through your example. Let your light shine brightly in every meeting, conversation, and decision, so that others may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16). We also pray for your husband, that he too would experience God’s favor and protection in his workplace, and that together, you would be a united front of godly influence in your spheres of work.

Father, we ask that You would sharpen your daughter’s focus and renew her strength when weariness sets in. Remind her daily that she can do all things through Christ who strengthens her (Philippians 4:13). Guard her heart against anxiety and fear, filling her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We declare that her workplace is a mission field, and we pray that she would be a vessel of Your grace, wisdom, and truth to those around her.

We also lift up the financial blessings you’ve asked for, trusting that the Lord will provide for every need according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). May He bless the work of your hands and multiply your efforts for His glory. Let your finances be a testimony of His faithfulness, and may you always remember to honor Him with your resources, knowing that He is the ultimate Provider.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of strife, division, or discord in the workplace. We command every plan of the enemy to be thwarted and declare that your workplace would be a place of unity, respect, and productivity. Protect you and your husband from false accusations, gossip, or any form of injustice, and let Your angels encamp around you both (Psalm 91:11).

Finally, we stand in agreement with your declaration of trust in the Lord. He is your refuge, your strength, and your provider, and we pray that you would continue to lean on Him in every season. May your marriage be a testimony of God’s love and faithfulness, and may your workplace be a platform for His glory.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the privilege of standing in the gap for this sister in Christ. We ask that You would continue to guide her steps, protect her path, and fulfill Your purpose in her life. Strengthen her marriage, bless her work, and let Your presence go before her in all she does. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We join you in lifting up your work and your marriage before the Lord. Your prayer over your job, your husband, and all the daily demands honestly names what so many of us carry. It is good to bring it all to Him.

When the pressure builds and the unknowns feel heavy, one thing we’ve seen steady people is this: God is already present in every meeting, every decision, every conversation you haven’t yet had. He truly goes before you, just as you prayed. Let that truth soften your shoulders a little.

A small step that often helps is to take just half a minute before you walk into work, maybe while the coffee brews or while you’re in the car, to quietly commit the day to Jesus: your words, your reactions, your tasks. If your husband is nearby, you might do it together, even briefly. It doesn’t need to be long; it just anchors the day in His presence and reminds you both that you aren’t carrying this alone.

Let’s pray with you now:

Father, thank You for the good work You’ve placed in this woman’s hands and for the husband You’ve given her. In Jesus’ name, surround them with Your shield of favor. Give them sharp minds and calm hearts. Renew their energy, guard them from harm and false accusation, and let everything they do prosper according to Your will. May their workplace be a place of light because they are there, and may they rest in Your steady love. Amen.

You have asked that the favor of God would surround you like a shield as you and your husband go about your work, and that prayer does not rise into an empty heaven. It reaches the ear of One who delights to be a shield and a hiding-place for His people. But there is something even safer than a shield held over your head; it is the secret of those who have learned where their true support lies. You have said, “Your favor, Lord, surround me as a shield,” yet perhaps you have not noticed the deeper word that runs beneath it: underneath are the everlasting arms.

Think of that. A shield may be lifted or lowered, and your own arm grows weary holding it, but the arms of God are beneath you, not far off, not occasionally, but always, and in the very place where you are most likely to fall. In the meeting where you feel small, in the conversation where you fear you will say the wrong thing, in the quiet dread of a false accusation, right there, underneath, are the arms that never grow tired and never let go. David knew something of this when his enemies watched the house all night to destroy him, and his wife had let him down through a window. He did not put his trust in his own cunning or in the relenting of Saul; he looked to God and said, “The God of my mercy will go before me.” And so He will for you. Before you open your mouth, before you type a message, before you make that decision, the mercy of your God has already arrived. He has prevented you with goodness.

I hear in your prayer a right desire to serve with excellence and to be a light for Christ in your workplace. But perhaps there is also a hidden weight, a feeling that you must bring some perfect fragrance of your own to make your daily work acceptable. Let me lift that weight today. The grand secret of the sweet savor is not the pungency of your efforts but the perfume of Jesus Christ. When Noah came out of the ark, he offered a sacrifice, and the Lord smelled a sweet savor of rest. It was the sacrifice, not the offerer, that gave the scent. So it is with you. Your person is accepted in the Beloved; His doing and His dying are the aroma that goes up from every honest hour of labor done in faith. So go to that workplace not trying to win favor by a flawless performance, but carrying the fragrance of Christ. And when you stumble, as we all do, the sweet savor does not vanish; it is fixed in Him who ever lives to make intercession.

Do not be surprised when you feel your own strength ebbing. Every pool that is not self-supplied runs dry; that is the way of things in a fallen world. Even the keenest mind and the most disciplined body come to the edge of exhaustion. But the pool that God supplies with hidden springs never runs dry. The promise is not that you will avoid weariness, but that they who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. So when you have no more to give, that is no sign you are beaten; it is your invitation to stop drawing from your own cistern and begin drinking from the fountain. Let that sharp feeling of need send you to your knees, and you will find that the “shall” of grace is stronger than the “I cannot” of your weariness. As one of His own said long ago, “The will of the Lord leads the will of man in silken bonds, stronger than fetters of iron.” He will strengthen what is weak and settle what is shaking.

And that brings us to wisdom. You asked for wisdom from above, and you were right to ask, for if any lack wisdom, He gives liberally. But do you know where wisdom begins? It starts with trusting the Lord. To handle a matter wisely, in the rough and tumble of your daily round, is simply this: to trust God with every particular. You cannot see around the corner of next week, any more than a man walking at nightfall through a robber-infested wood can see what lies behind the next tree. But if he knows the woodsman who owns that forest, and that woodsman is walking beside him, he strides along with a quiet heart. Your God owns every boardroom, every desk, every factory floor. Trust Him to guide your steps, to give you the word in season, to shut the lion’s mouth when accusation rises. That is the short and brief method of escaping the greatest difficulties.

Let me leave you with this homely picture. A little child is sent across the dark yard to fetch something from the workshop. She feels afraid, but her father says, “Go on; I am watching from the window.” So she steps out, not because she has a lantern, but because she has her father’s eye upon her. You and your husband go to your labors under the same watchful love. The eyes of the Lord are in every place, and His favor is not a remote hope, it is a present reality, as close as the air you breathe. So go with your shoulders straight and your fears quieted, not because the path is easy, but because the arms underneath are everlasting, and the face above is full of love.

Father, into Your keeping we commit this dear sister and her husband. Let them know today, beyond any reasoning, that You are their refuge and their strength, a very present help. When the way is rough, be the level ground beneath their feet. Accept the work of their hands as a sweet savor for Jesus’ sake, and give them quiet confidence that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. Cover them with Your feathers, and under Your wings let them trust. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
