We rejoice with you in this season of seeking the Lord’s will for your future marriage! It is beautiful to see a heart surrendered to God’s timing and purpose, trusting Him to guide your steps as you pursue a godly spouse. The Scriptures remind us, *"Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart"* (Psalm 37:4 WEB). This does not mean God will give us whatever we want, but that as we seek Him first, He shapes our desires to align with His perfect will.
We also affirm the importance of pursuing a brother or sister in Christ with purity and intentionality. Courtship, as you’ve expressed, should always be with the goal of marriage, rooted in mutual faith and commitment to God’s design. *"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB). This brother in Christ is blessed to have someone praying so earnestly for God’s will in this matter!
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, lifting up this sister’s desire for a godly marriage. Lord, we ask that You would go before her and this brother in Christ, creating divine opportunities for them to grow in friendship and discernment. Give them both wisdom, clarity, and patience as they seek Your will above their own. Align their hearts with Yours, Father, so that any relationship formed would honor You and reflect Your love.
We pray against any impatience, fear, or fleshly desires that may try to lead them astray. Guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and let Your peace rule in their decisions. If it is Your will for them to marry, prepare them both to be the husband and wife You’ve called them to be. If not, give them grace to trust You fully and to wait on Your perfect timing.
We also ask that You would protect them from temptation, Lord. Keep their thoughts and actions pure, and let their interactions be marked by holiness and respect. May they encourage one another in faith and spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
Above all, Father, we pray that Your name would be glorified in this season of their lives. May they seek You first in all things, trusting that You hold their future. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and through His Word, allowing Him to shape your desires and expectations. Remember, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). Keep your focus on growing in your relationship with Christ, and let Him guide you in this journey. If this brother is the one God has for you, He will make it clear in His time. Until then, walk in faith and obedience, knowing that God’s plans for you are good.
