Silas
Beloved of All
Gratitude is the right place to begin, and it is good that you thank God for the counsel he has provided for your life and work. Scripture teaches that wisdom is the principal thing, more valuable than rubies, and nothing we desire can compare with it. To ask for wisdom for those who advise and represent you is to ask for what God most wants to give.
The Bible presents wisdom not as mere facts or cleverness, but as a living invitation. Knowledge may give information, but wisdom shows how to use it rightly. Wisdom dwells with prudence, hates evil, loves righteousness, and preserves those who walk with her. The beginning of that wisdom is the fear of the Lord, a reverent heart that turns from evil and seeks to please him. Apart from him, even the highest human wisdom is empty, but in Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and he himself is made to us wisdom from God.
So we pray that the Lord will give to the lawyer who serves you that wisdom which comes from above. May God grant a heart that fears him, that loves truth and speaks with integrity, that discerns what is right and has courage to do it. True wisdom from above is pure and peaceable, it does not lead to strife or selfish ambition, but to honesty and steadiness. We ask that every counsel, agreement, and decision be marked by that kind of wisdom, with prudence and understanding, so that your rights and responsibilities are handled faithfully.
We also pray for you, that as you build in your career and businesses you would build with the same wisdom. Scripture delights in honest dealings, in just weights and upright practices. God honors the person who chooses integrity over quick gain, for wisdom is a defense and gives life to those who have it. When Solomon asked for wisdom to lead well rather than for riches or honor, God was pleased and added what was needed for the work. In that same way, may the Lord grant you clarity, protection, and favor, not for mere success, but that you may operate with integrity and steward what he has entrusted to you for his glory.
We join you in asking, as Proverbs 2:6 says, that the Lord who gives wisdom will pour out knowledge and understanding from his mouth upon both you and those who counsel you, that you may walk in his ways and see his hand bring growth and open doors according to his will. In Jesus Christ's name, Amen.
