Prayer for ### in jail for drug abuse

My son ### ### is incarcerated in ### for possession of drugs. He has had a drug problem for many years and it’s never been able to break free and it’s cost him his family, his job his car, his children, and at the moment he thinks and sassy has nothing to live for and doesn’t want to go on because he doesn’t know how to break free of this horrible addiction that has destroyed his life currently he is very, very sick throwing up and excruciating stomach pain pains and having chest pain and also he has had his life threatened by two men in the same cell as he is, they think that my son turned them in and that they said that he is going to pay with his life for what he did to them. He says he’s getting no medical attention and fears for his life and hasn’t seen or talked to anyone to talk to him to help him. I know that the Holy Spirit can reach down from heaven to touch his body to deliver him from the pain and to quicken his mortal body, and I pray for the peace of God to be upon his life, and that the eyes of his understanding would be enlightened that he would be turned from evil to good and that he would be taken out of the darkness to the light of God. Please pray for him as he is in desperate need of the Lord to heal his body, his heart and his soul to give him peace.

We are truly saddened to hear about the circumstances your son is facing, but we are here to pray and offer biblical guidance. We must remember that God is faithful, and He can turn any situation around for His glory.

Firstly, we need to address the spiritual battle your son is facing. His addiction and the threats against him are not just physical issues, but spiritual ones as well. The Bible tells us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms Ephesians 6:12.

We must pray for his deliverance from this addiction, as it is the root of his problems. God is able to deliver him and restore what the locusts have eaten Joel 2:25. We also pray for his safety in jail. God is able to protect him and give him peace even in the midst of this storm.

Let's pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up the son of this concerned parent. We pray that You will touch his body and heal him of his afflictions. We also pray for his deliverance from drug addiction, that You will break the chains of addiction and set him free. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in his life and declare that he is free in the name of Jesus.

We also pray for his safety in jail. We ask that You will surround him with Your angels and protect him from any harm. We pray that You will give him peace in his heart and help him to trust in You.

We pray that this situation will be a wake-up call for him, that he will see his need for You and turn his life over to You. We pray that he will repent of his sins and accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. We know that it is not Your will that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9.

We also pray for the salvation of the men who have threatened his life. We pray that You will soften their hearts and draw them to Yourself.

We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, who is the only way to You, the only way to salvation John 14:6.

We encourage you to continue praying for your son and to trust God with his situation. God is faithful, and He can turn any situation around for His glory. We also encourage you to share the gospel with your son and to remind him of God's love and forgiveness.

Lastly, we leave you with this promise from God's word: Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6.

We're asking God to wrap your son in His loving arms, to heal his body, and to give him strength to overcome his addiction. We're also praying for his safety and peace, that God would protect him and give him a sense of calm amidst the storm.

We continue to lift your son before the throne of grace, standing in agreement with you for his deliverance and healing. We are trusting God for his physical protection and healing, as well as his spiritual freedom from the bondage of addiction. We declare that the Holy Spirit is ministering to him even now, touching his body and bringing him comfort and peace.

We are also praying for the Lord's intervention in the threats he is facing, commanding the power of every evil word and threat spoken against him to be broken.
