Prayer for Husband & Marriage

We come before the Lord with you in this time of need, lifting up your husband and your marriage to the One who holds all things together. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we know that Christ came to give life abundantly (John 10:10). Depression and agitation are not from the Lord, for He is the God of peace, joy, and hope. Let us first address the spiritual foundation of your marriage, for no union can thrive apart from Christ.
The Bible tells us in Ephesians 5:22-33 that marriage is a sacred covenant, reflecting the relationship between Christ and the Church. Wives are called to respect their husbands, and husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loved the Church—sacrificially and unconditionally. We encourage you to examine your own heart as well, ensuring that you are walking in love, patience, and submission to the Lord, for a gentle and quiet spirit is precious in God’s sight (1 Peter 3:4). This does not mean tolerating sinful behavior, but rather responding in a way that honors God and invites His peace into your home.
To your husband, we speak truth in love: depression and irritability can often stem from unaddressed spiritual battles, unconfessed sin, or a lack of surrender to Christ. We urge him to turn to the Lord with all his heart, for Jesus said, *“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest”* (Matthew 11:28). True joy and fulfillment are found only in Him. If there is any sin—whether bitterness, unforgiveness, lust, or idolatry—it must be repented of, for sin separates us from the peace of God. The Bible warns us in Hebrews 12:15 to ensure that *“no root of bitterness springs up and causes trouble, and by it many are defiled.”* Likewise, Proverbs 15:1 reminds us that *“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”* We pray that both of you would speak life to one another, refusing to let the sun go down on your anger (Ephesians 4:26).
If your husband is not actively walking with the Lord, we strongly encourage you to pray for his repentance and renewal. A man who is not grounded in Christ will struggle to lead his home as God intends. Pray that he would seek the Lord first, for *“the joy of Yahweh is your strength”* (Nehemiah 8:10). If he is in Christ, remind him to cast his cares upon the Lord, for He cares for him (1 Peter 5:7). Encourage him to spend time in the Word and in prayer, and to seek godly counsel if needed. Sometimes, depression can be a physical issue as well, so wisdom in seeking medical advice—while still trusting in the Lord—can be part of stewardship over the body God has given.
Now, let us pray together for your husband and your marriage:
Heavenly Father, we lift this precious sister and her husband before Your throne of grace. Lord, You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). We ask that You would touch her husband’s heart and mind, lifting the heaviness of depression and replacing it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Father, if there is any sin in his life—known or unknown—we pray that You would convict him by Your Holy Spirit and lead him to repentance. Cleanse him, Lord, and restore the joy of Your salvation to him (Psalm 51:12).
We pray that You would soften his heart toward his wife, removing any irritation or anger, and filling him with patience, kindness, and love. Help him to see her as Your precious daughter, worthy of honor and cherishing. Lord, we ask that You would unite their hearts in You, that their marriage would be a reflection of Your love for the Church. Remove any bitterness, resentment, or division, and replace it with unity, joy, and mutual respect.
Father, we pray for immense joy to flood their home—a joy that comes from You alone. Let their marriage be a testimony of Your goodness and faithfulness. Give them wisdom to navigate this season, and surround them with godly counsel and support. If there are any areas where they have not surrendered to You, Lord, convict them and draw them closer to Yourself.

Sister, we encourage you to continue standing in faith, praying without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), and trusting in the Lord’s timing. Cling to His promises, for He is faithful. If your husband is not walking with the Lord, your prayers and godly example may be the very thing God uses to draw him back. Stay rooted in the Word, and do not lose heart. *“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we don’t give up”* (Galatians 6:9). We are standing with you in prayer!

I wanted to commit suicide once, I even came up with a plan. Right before I headed out the door I posted a prayer on here and hoping there might be help from God one last time I opened the Bible and only read take no thought for your life. I read that before at least 100 times but never really could understand how. This time I took it to heart, all right God I will end my life by not thinking about it. I take no thought, I take no thought, I take no thought over and over and over again I take no thought was my only thought that day. All of a sudden I noticed something, Jesus showed up, all my pains were gone, no neck ache, no back pain, no leg pain from many many accidents I had over the years and no pain in my heart as my wife had left me. I started singing praises and thanks to Jesus and my life has never been the same. It is our obedience to God from His Holy Instructions that makes a difference to His Power of His Promises in our lives.
Be a doer of Jesus friend, it really makes a difference! Thank You Lord Jesus!
Search the Bible for Jesus' Promises friend, do them and claim them in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!
Powerful healing promise hidden in Proverbs 3:7-8, I am not wise in my own eyes, I fear You Lord, I depart from evil, especially my own evil thoughts and my flesh is healed and my body is refreshed in Jesus.

Take no thought for your life dear friend and Jesus will take thought for you. Sing praises and thanks to Jesus and He will overflow His Holy Spirit in you and so much more. He will fight for you and give you the desires of your heart.

Bless me daily to cast off and forsake my thoughts and ways for my life, and exchange them for Your thoughts and ways for my life. Let me think Your thoughts and dream Your dreams for my life. God bless me to live and walk in Your love, mercy and forgiveness (Isaiah 55:7). I confess, I will take no thought for my life. I will trust You Father God to take thought for me and take care of me (Mathew 6:25-34). I will not be wise in my own eyes, I will fear You Lord and depart from evil and my flesh will be healed and my body will be refreshed (Proverbs 3:7-8) daily. Thank You Jesus for Your Promises! Lord make me the Child of God You need me to be in Christ for all those around me and for the world to see (Psalms 128:3). Not by my might, nor by my power, but by Your Spirt Christ Jesus (Zechariah 4:6) this shall happen. And it will happen, it is happening now in Your timing, Power, Strength, Might, and Spirit, Christ Jesus. God all that I have asked of you in this prayer please do the same for all those I love, care about, and every faithful prayer warrior on this site. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Lord Jesus, my Savior and Lord for answering this prayer with a Yes and Amen.
