Prayer for health on my dad ### ###

Hello, my ### has been having a lot of back pain. He has lots of other health issues as well that he’s been dealing with. And now he has this new back pain on top of it and it has been pretty severe. It started to get better and then it got worse again and he’s just having a difficult time. Please heal his back and.Allow him not to have to have surgery on it. Please pray to have God heal it and him get better. Power of prayers.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your father and his health struggles. It is clear that his pain has been a heavy burden, not only physically but emotionally as well. We know the Lord hears the cries of His children, and we stand in agreement with you, believing in His power to heal and restore.

The Bible tells us in James 5:14-15, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up." We claim this promise over your father’s life, trusting that the Lord is able to bring healing to his body. We also recall the words of Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases." God is not only able to heal, but it is His nature to do so.

Father God, we come before You now, lifting up ’s father into Your mighty hands. Lord, You see his pain, his struggle, and the weight he carries. We ask that You would touch his body with Your healing power. Strengthen his back, Lord, and bring relief from this severe pain. We pray that You would guide the hands of his doctors and caregivers, giving them wisdom and discernment in his treatment. If it is Your will, Lord, we ask that You would spare him from surgery and bring complete healing to his body. We know that You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too difficult for You.

We also pray for his spirit, Lord. Pain can wear a person down, not just physically but emotionally and spiritually. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Remind him of Your presence and Your love, even in the midst of this trial. Give him strength to endure and hope to press on. Surround him with Your comfort and assurance that You are with him every step of the way.

Lord, we ask that You would also minister to and the rest of the family. It is difficult to watch a loved one suffer, and we pray that You would give them patience, strength, and faith as they walk this journey with him. Help them to trust in You, even when the path is unclear. Let this trial draw them closer to You and to one another.

We rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or despair that may be trying to take hold in this situation. We declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear, and we choose to trust in Your goodness and Your faithfulness. We speak healing over ’s father in the mighty name of Jesus, believing that by His stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).

Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in this time. Bring your requests before Him with thanksgiving, knowing that He cares for you and your father deeply (1 Peter 5:7). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He is working all things together for good (Romans 8:28).

We stand with you in faith, believing that God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). May His peace guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Amen.

We’re holding your dad and your whole family in our hearts right now. Watching someone you love battle ongoing health struggles, and then seeing a new, intense pain pile on top, it’s exhausting and scary. We hear the weight of it in your words, and we’re so sorry he’s going through this.

Back pain can be incredibly draining, especially when it’s severe and keeps resurfacing. We join you in asking God to bring relief and, if it’s His will, to heal him without surgery. Sometimes God works through the skill of doctors and the breakthroughs of medicine, so we’d also gently encourage you and your dad to stay in close touch with his healthcare team about this new pain. A thorough evaluation can guide wise next steps, and there’s nothing faithless about seeking that help, it’s part of caring for the body God gave him. Meanwhile, keep gathering others to pray. Knowing his church family is specifically lifting him by name can be a huge comfort, and we’re glad to be part of that chorus with you.

We don’t know exactly how or when God will move, but we trust He is near to your dad right now, even in the hard moments. We’re praying for His sustaining peace, for wisdom for every provider involved, and for the pain to ease so your dad can find some rest and renewed strength. You’re not carrying this alone.

Father, we lift up this precious dad to You. You see his pain, his weariness from all his health challenges, and the worry of his family. Please touch his back and bring genuine healing. Grant him relief, and guide his doctors to the right path forward, whether that’s rest, therapy, or any procedure that would truly help. Calm the anxious hearts around him and fill them with Your peace that defies understanding. Hold this whole family steady, and let them sense Your presence in tangible ways. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Let us lift up your father before the throne of grace, remembering that the Lord is both the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the tender Father of the fatherless, aye, and of all who put their trust in Him. He hears the cry of the afflicted and is near to the brokenhearted. When pains wrack the body and the back is bowed with anguish, it is no light thing, but the Great Physician is still at hand. There is no balm in Gilead, no earthly remedy that can compare to the healing leaves that grow on the Tree of Life, which is Christ Jesus. His word is all edge, it cuts to the very marrow, but it also binds up with the gentleness of a Father’s hand.

We must ever remember that the Son of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, and before Him no disease can stand unrebuked. Whether He heals by a word, by the slow process of strengthening, or by granting patience to endure, His grace is sufficient. Yet we do well to ask that the back be mended and that surgery be avoided; He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think. When our Lord walked among men, He linked the healing of the body with the forgiveness of sins, for He is ever ready to speak the double cure: “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.” Then He adds strength to the frame.

But take heed how you pray and how you hear the promise. Faith is the hand that receives the blessing; without it, we restrain the hand of the Most High. The Father chastens those He loves, but it is not the stroke of a judge, it is the rod of a Father. Even so, Father, for so it seems good in Your sight. Lay hold upon this: the pain your father endures may be the very road by which the Lord draws him nearer to the cross, where the true balm flows. There is no physician like Jesus; He heals the wounded heart and the palsied limb with equal ease. Encourage your father to say in his spirit, “Jesus! Master! hear my cry! Save me, heal me with a word.” For the Lord is not swift to anger, nor does He hide His face from the trembling seeker. He bows over the mangled heart, and no cry returns void from His ear.

We join our faith with yours: may the power that made the lame to leap and the palsied to walk visit your father’s frame. May the well of bitterness be dried at its source, and if any pain remains, may it be so transformed that it becomes a healing draught for the inner man. Above all, may he know the Father’s love, and find in the Son a refuge, a helper, and a restorer. Have done with dread; approach the mercy seat with boldness. There is room at the cross for every heavy-laden sinner; there is healing for every disease; there is strength for every feeble back. I will not cease to plead that the Lord will lift him up, restore his health, and grant him the sweet peace that passes understanding, until that day when there is no more pain, and the former things are passed away. Wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart.

Bless me to know You, so that I can trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. The sharp return of your father’s pain after it seemed to ease is a trial that weighs heavily upon you. Understand that our Lord does not merely temper a fever and then leave the body to recover slowly, as a physician might. When He touched Peter’s mother-in-law, her strength returned at once, full and complete. This same power is not diminished today. Cry out to Him who is able to command the back to straighten and the ache to flee, even without the cutting of a surgeon. The knife is not your only hope. The blood of Christ speaks of a greater redemption, an entire rescue from every bondage. Trust that He can grant both relief from this infirmity and a healing that astonishes.

But I would have you consider something deeper. Prolonged affliction can make the soul dull to hope, just as endless ease can make it reckless. When pain lingers, do not imagine that God has forgotten. Even the Apostle was not spared a thorn in his flesh, yet he learned to glory in weakness, because the power of Christ rested upon him. This back pain, layered upon all the other ailments your father carries, is not a sign of God’s absence. It may well be the very instrument by which his inner man is being renewed day by day. Do not judge the Lord’s works by outward appearance. A healthy body can house a sick soul, but a body under trial often becomes a workshop for humility and faith.

I urge you, therefore, not to sink into despair when the pain worsens again. That is the hour for stronger prayer. The enemy would use this to breed bitterness or murmuring. Reject such thoughts. Instead, bring your father before the throne with a confidence that does not waver. I will lift his name with you in the assembly. But together we must also pray with this disposition: “Lord, heal his body, but even more, preserve his soul. If the pain remains, grant endurance. If surgery is avoided, let it be by Your hand, so that we may give glory to You alone.”

Do not be like those who hear the promises of God and treat them as a fable. The Lord who foreordained our redemption will not abandon your father now. Stand firm, then, and let this trial become a medicine. Let it not be said of us that we are senseless beasts, unable to see the hand behind the affliction. Lift up your head, and await the mercy that will come in the hour He has appointed.
