We lift up your sister before the Lord, knowing that He is the Great Physician and the Prince of Peace who can calm both her body and her spirit. The racing of her heart is a reminder of how deeply stress can affect us, but we serve a God who invites us to cast all our anxieties on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). Let us also remember that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and we must steward them well, trusting God to sustain and heal us.
Yet we must also ask: where is her trust placed in this trial? Is she seeking the Lord first, or is her heart troubled because her focus has shifted to the storms around her rather than the Savior who commands even the winds and waves? Jesus told His disciples, *"Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?"* (Matthew 8:26). Stress often reveals where our faith may be lacking, and we pray that through this, your sister would draw nearer to Christ, finding her rest in Him alone.
We also urge her—and all of us—to examine whether the stress she bears is self-imposed by worldly concerns or if she is carrying burdens the Lord never intended for her to carry. Jesus said, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light"* (Matthew 11:28-30). If she has not surrendered these stresses to Him, now is the time.
As for her physical healing, we claim the promise that *"by his wounds you are healed"* (1 Peter 2:24) and that the Lord is able to strengthen her heart, both spiritually and physically. We pray for wisdom for her doctors if she seeks medical care, and for supernatural peace to guard her mind and body (Philippians 4:7).
But we must also ask: has she placed her faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation? There is no healing, no peace, and no access to the Father apart from Him. Jesus said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6). If she has not yet repented of her sins and trusted in Christ’s finished work on the cross, we plead with her to do so today—for eternal life is far greater than temporary healing.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this sister who is suffering in body and spirit. Lord, You know the number of hairs on her head and the beats of her heart—every moment is in Your hands. We ask that You would calm her racing heart as You calmed the storm on Galilee, speaking peace to her body and soul. Remove every source of stress that is not of You, and grant her the grace to release what she cannot control into Your sovereign care.
If there is sin or unbelief hindering her healing, convict her by Your Spirit and lead her to repentance. If she does not yet know You as Savior, draw her to Yourself today. Let this trial be a turning point where she surrenders all to You, trusting in Your goodness even when the path is unclear.
We rebuke every spirit of fear, anxiety, and infirmity in Jesus’ name, declaring that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Strengthen her faith, Lord, and let her testimony be one of Your faithfulness. May she rise from this season with a heart fully devoted to You, walking in the peace that surpasses all understanding.
We ask all this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Healer and Redeemer. Amen.
We will continue to stand with you in prayer, believing God for her complete restoration. Let her fix her eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of her faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He is working all things together for her good (Romans 8:28). If she needs encouragement, remind her of Psalm 34:18: *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* He has not forgotten her.
