Your cry for healing from spiritual cyberbullying, from lies that have been believed and from the confusion that has followed, has been brought before the Lord with deep sympathy and earnest prayer.
There is a great ill in a broken and wounded heart, and there is a great Physician who alone can heal it. We very speedily seek help for bodily pain, but how much more ought the soul that has been wounded by cruel words, by falsehoods and by the malice of others, to be brought to Christ. He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds, and no other hand can do this saving work.
You speak of lies that you believed and of confusion that remains. Many are deaf because they will not hear, and many are blind because they say we see, and so their sin and sorrow remain. But the Lord has made the hearing ear and the seeing eye, and faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. The healing power of Christ was present when He was teaching, and it is still so. As you sit under the faithful teaching of the Word, as you hear of Calvary and of Him who became man that He might suffer what was due for human sin, the Lord will by His Spirit clear away confusion and establish you in truth. The cross enlightens men by its own light.
Remember also that healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee. Pardon and healing were one. The Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings. Do not think that you must heal yourself before you come to Him. You are to lie at the Savior's feet exactly as you are, wounded, weary and weak, hoping and expecting forgiveness and healing from His hand. The burden of a sinner does not need long waiting for its removal when the sinner lies repenting and believing at the feet of Jesus.
It is written that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, but even His leaves, the little things as it were about Him, are full of healing virtue. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. Though the wound has been made by the tongues of men and by the fiery darts of the enemy, there is abundant healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation to restore you.
Do not attempt to wrap the linen about the wound and leave out the healing ointment. To trust your God, to rely upon the atonement of His Son, this is the way that lies straight before you. The father who cried, If thou canst do anything, have compassion on us, was answered, If thou canst believest, all things are possible to him that believeth. The if lies not with Christ and His power, but with you and your faith. No limit can be set to the power which lies in the divine expiation. In His precious blood there is more than sufficient reason for faith.
And when He heals, He takes by the hand and lifts up. As He took Peter's wife's mother by the hand and the fever left her, so He will lift you from this prostration. Healing must come before serving, and He will give you strength again to rise and serve Him.
Let us pray together for you.
O Lord our God, who forgivest all our iniquities and healest all our diseases, look in mercy upon this wounded one. Thou knowest the sting of cruel words, the weight of lies believed, and the cloud of confusion that has settled upon the mind. Forgive, we pray Thee, all sin, and wash away every falsehood by the truth of Thy Word. Speak pardon through the blood of Thy dear Son, and let healing flow therefrom. Take this dear soul by the hand and lift up from this fever of the soul. Give faith where there has been fear, give clarity where there has been confusion, and let the leaves of the tree of life bring healing to every part. Teach this heart to hear Thy voice with heed, to trust Thy atonement, and to say no more, I am sick, but to rejoice that Thou dwellest there and hast made whole. Keep this one under the shadow of Thy wings till calm and peace return, and make the life henceforth to show forth Thy praise. For Jesus sake, Amen.
